The smell of fish hits you in the face when you walk in. It’s also a seafood market... they sell fresh seafood in the front, so it’s to be expected. Don’t let it bother you. Head straight back to the restaurant. I am very picky about scallops, they were spot on. The crab cakes had enormous chunks of crab on top, soooo good. The views from this restaurant are breathtaking. You can sit inside and still have an unobstructed view.

I just love this place. Nothing fancy inside, but nice outdoor seating if weather permits. Great seafood, gorgeous setting on the Lynhaven. A little pricey but worth it. Well stocked seafood market on the way out but I've never left there hungry.

Dockside Platter... Had a little of everything... I was skeptical at first... but it's very tasty... My only complaint would be that everything had the same seasoning... But... It's still good...I forgot to take a pic of the food... Empty plates probably tell a better story..

This place is a gem. Easily the best crab cake I've ever had. The scallops were outstanding as well. You won't find a better selection of fresh caught seafood anywhere in Virginia Beach.

Popped into Dockside recently for lunch on Mom's birthday and we had a good time. It was an unseasonably warm day during our visit which made it much nicer to be outside on the covered deck. I didn't catch out waiters name however the guy was super efficient and he took really good care of us. Mom started off with a margarita and ordered Shrimp Parmesan from the lunch menu. I wasn't in the mood for seafood and decided to try the half pound Dockside Burger. After a short wait our food arrived. I have to say that the Shrimp Parmesan smelled delicious and it looked terrific. My burger was good. I added bacon as well, however this was no half pound burger, definitely a quarter of a pound but no where near a half pound, even before cooking. Regardless we enjoyed our meal and it was a beautiful sunny afternoon. Once we were finished we took a good stroll through the store however neither of us found anything we wanted at the time. I'm looking forward to coming back here, probably next spring or summer, and actually having some seafood.
