Good food at a great price! Love the new remodel. Well established and consistent quality. Three generations have enjoyed Encenada for nearly 30 years. Good place for meatless meals. Cheese enchiladas especial is my favorite.

Spiffy new remodeling job has really enhanced the look! Roll open windows and games will make it attractive to families and people who want to hang out with friends over a margarita (or 3). As always, the food is fast, tasty and consistent. Feel like it's a great bargain for the money!

Dropped by for a quick double shot of tequila. Declined chips and menu but owner or manager was busy talking business to a table and took awhile before he came to bar. Good thing is that he did make up for wait with an over poured double shot. Just in time. I was about to leave and find another along my path. So this review is purely on service and expediency. Have not tried anything other than shots of tequila. Will definitely give another try at bar for food and drinks to update rating.

My husband, daughter and myself went in for a late dinner tonight. We placed our order at 8:10 PM. The place recently went through renovations which I can only assume that they also changed owners at thesame time. We have been going there for over two years and have always been very happy with the food and service. Tonight we had our waiter at the table four times apologizing because the cooks were not cooking anything until they finished with a large party that came in. We finally had enough at 9:20 when our waiter had returned to tell us that our food would be up next for cooking because the manager had stepped in and said it would be made next. The couple across from us just got up and left without paying. And the family behind them had been there before we arrived with a small child was still waiting for food! At this point we were done and canceled the order and asked for the check. I was shocked to find that 2 soft drinks and a kids drink, salsa & chips, small cheese dip and a guacamole salad was $28.53! As we got up to leave we went to pay and the cashier walked away leaving us standing there for and additional 10 minutes until our waiter noticed and came over so we could just pay and leave! No manager came to apologize and it was very apparent to me that the wait staff was left hanging/waiting just like the tables they were working. They raised their prices sky high and their lack of service has just lost them a regular customer! There are plenty of Mexican restaurants in Virginia Beach and they have much better service and prices!
