Visited for breakfast. Average food, service poor. Nice view from upstairs window though. Waitress took away my menu to give to someone else while I was reading it. Forgot requests and then delivered the bill with a belch (nice). Food was plentiful but quality was average (breakfast burrito) - to be fair, breakfast is not their speciality.

I’ve been visiting the Athenian often for several years and I have to say that the food is great and the service is usually fairly quick and easy. Today however our was very disappointing. I noticed that the club sandwich was no longer on the menu as it had been for years so I simply asked if they could make a club. Dana (the server) looked at me with this irritated glare and said “um well NO you can’t just make up your own sandwich” when I was taken aback she said “oh, we don’t have turkey”. I pointed to the menu and said there is a turkey on sourdough right here on the menu and she said oh sorry I’m kind of new. She then took our order and decided she didn’t want to write down that I had decided on the turkey sandwich. Ok fair enough we just spoke about the club and the turkey and the whole thing so yeah pretty easy to remember but no she gets to her computer and then comes back and asked me to clarify or remind her if I wanted salmon pasta or the salmon burger...what the hell?!? We never spoke about salmon...period. So we finally get our meal delivered and my friends burger was missing the bacon she asked to be added. She mentioned it to the server who begrudgingly retrieves 3 little slices of bacon on a plate and then tacks on another $4 charge for an order of bacon. When asked why the $4 charge for bacon that was supposed to be on the burger and she looked at us like we were nuts! She stalked back to her station where she proceeds to complain to her coworker about the whole thing while the coworker scoffs. In the end she took the $4 charge off however we left frustrated and not wanting to come back any time soon. Is it just me or does it seem like the tips aren’t as important when they are making $15 an hour? That or Dana should look at getting a different gig for the sake of your patrons. 3 stars because of past visits

Good comfort food! The portions are well served as me and my boyfriend shared the 3 piece cod and chips and it we were both sated! Good value for money, several beer options, great view of the sea and I couldn’t ask for better service. The staff was very friendly without being intrusive! Cosy decor, good for a date!

The view is incredible, the service is fantastic. the food? Not so much. You go here for the view. The prices are just a bit higher than in downtown, but you are paying for the view and it is fabulous.

We were sat right away. Friendly staff! Bad variety for vegetarians so all I had was the hummus plate. Beautiful views of the lake and famous ferris wheel. Delicious drinks!
