This is my favorite Mexican-style restaurant. The food isn't heavy like the other places in town, and it's got more variety with ingredients, so you're not just stuck with beans, cheese and cheap fatty meat. Definitely order a margarita too--the one with basil in it. ;) Also please note that several of the reviews for this place are for other restaurants entirely in different states. To be clear, I'm talking about Pasqual's Hilldale. That's Madison, WI (dear Google: how is that happening? There are reviews for Chicago and Raleigh on this page!)

Went for dinner yesterday and really terrible experience. We ordered margaritas and several tacos. First of all, their margaritas taste like $5 tequila mixed with walmart sweet and sour mix. When the tacos came out, they were cold and bland. The cheese on it was exactly what you would buy from the grocery store and it was literally thrown on there straight from the fridge. We told the waiter as a courtesy, not that I wanted any discount. The manager came out, and she was the rudest, least classy person I've met in a management role. She said she took it out from the kitchen herself so it couldn't have been cold, then scolded us saying they don't melt the cheese, after which said "we good, can I take this away?" We didn't even know what to say at this point. After she left with our terrible food that we barely ate, the waiter told us they gave us a "discount" which was 10%. I honestly would have preferred if the manager didn't come out and certainly would have preferred to get no discount rather than a stupid 10% for food we didn't eat at all. Honestly, worst Mexican food I've eaten, you will get better stuff at taco bell and certainly better service so avoid if possible, I know I will in the future.

Not your standard Mexican fare. They serve great enchiladas, burritos, tacos and more. The margaritas are fantastic as well. There is an outdoor patio as well. Overall, a great value.

Customer service lacking, food mediocre. Cannot recommend. The OLD Pasqual's was a one of the first Tex-Mex joints in this part of the world. It was popular, tasty, affordable and even fun! But today's version is a far cry from the restaurant's roots. It's like Taco Bell meets Applebee's. We waited nearly an hour to be served after ordering. But while waiting for food, we asked to be moved to a table on the patio because it was quite loud inside. The host said she would ask the manager, then came and told us the manager said they can't do that. I asked for the manager to tell us herself, so the manager did come out and proceeded to explain how "complicated" it would be to move us. (In other words, "we can't be bothered with your needs.") This despite the fact that the restaurant was quickly emptying out and our food hadn't even arrived. And so despite the fact that there was plenty of room (and quiet) outside, they forced us to stay at the inside table. And the food? Umm, I tried the "breakfast bowl," which was topped with potatoes that were soggy and salty. My daughter had soup that was cold upon arrival. The others said their meals were acceptable. I sure do miss the old Pasqual's. For now, sadly, I can't recommend the place.

Sunday evening at 4:45 pm: Service and food were real good, however after taking our order our food did not arrive for almost an hour. At the very least the server should have warned us and offered us free chips and salsa. We hadn't eaten since breakfast and were really hungry so it was irritating. Spoiled our evening. Probably won't be back and won't recommend to friends.
