Though still a relatively new store it has lost it's personality which is what happens to most stores like this. When it first opened there would be a store member to greet you and tell you where to find what you were looking for or take you where you need to go. Checking out was just as pleasant and for the most part this has not changed much. We waited at appliance section for over 1/2 hour before associate asked if we needed help and sarcastically i said sure. I would suggest patrons have an option to pick a number that way Lowe's rep would know that someone is waiting to be served. Most sales associates do multiple jobs so when they finally show up at order desk the inconsiderate patrons bud ahead. If ordering appliances from this store do your research on line first as associates are just there to enter/order what you are buying and most items are not in store but need ordering. On that note our dryer order has been delayed a month so have a plan in place before ordering. As for pricing they do have some sales but for the most part a lot of the stuff on the shelves is typically more than Home Depot and Rona would charge. I found some washers at Rona that were almost half the price as Lowe's so it pays to shop around.

Typically I do not write reviews on places that don’t appeal to me - but maybe it is only fair of me to tell Lowe’s why I don’t shop there even when I might pay more at their competitors (see below). At most big box home stores, I can find fast friendly assistance if and when needed. I am taken to the item I am looking for or led to a staff member who can help. At Lowe’s, I always find staff standing around in groups of two or three chatting throughout the store. They never ask if I need assistance. If I do approach I feel like I am interrupting. Try isle three maybe and they go back to their chat. Isle three is never the right one. This is not a one time issue, it is regular. Also, I have noticed higher prices at Lowe’s. I may try again in six or seven months but will stay away if I find the staff attitude continues. Sorry Lowe’s - you have to get your act together all day every day for ALL shoppers, even me. Not happy at all.

Our shopping experience tonight was more a nightmare than an experience!! Went to the Sherwood Park garden centre for perennials. Every item we were buying was on sale. 1 gallon pots were regular $9.99 on sale for $7.49. First pot scanned came up full price. After the cashier, Jenna argued they weren’t on sale AND after waiting for the person she called on the intercom to come prove her right, I had to go myself and bring the sign as proof. Basically, we were told they can’t honour the Scanning Code of Practice because it doesn’t apply to plants! Another cashier, Andrea, working the customer service counter overheard and just blurted out that Scanning Code of Practice wasn’t applicable! This was the most ridiculous thing I’d ever heard! Now, for EACH item that had a yellow sticker, she has to complete a report. PLUS she needs a manager override. But he’s not here I reminded her. But when she wneeded him for the override, he appeared!! Kyle, the manager only appeared to reinforce the store’s Scanning Code of Practice policy on plants! After very patiently waiting for each report to be written on 6 of our 10 items, I was writing down the names of each staff that had made the entire experience a nightmare with their argumentative attitude, eye rolling, and one in particular would interrupt me and talk over me in a very condescending way. But when I tried to get Andrea’s name, she muttered a little profanity, and hid herself behind a post. Of all stupid places to go, she realized and put her hand over her name tag!! This store has ZERO properly trained staff. And when I tried speaking I was just cut off by Jenna so I gave up sincerely trying to help her. Save yourself the frustration and go to Home Depot.

Ordering online went well. Customer service phoned me within an hour to tell they had to bring part of the order in from another store which was OK. The email that thanked me for the order also said Please wait for your " order is ready for pickup" email as some products may require more preparatory time. The ready for pickup email arrived Sunday. Still good. However when I arrived to Tuesday to pickup the order that was "ready for pickup" on Sunday, I had to wait 40 minutes as it had to be put together!! I was not impressed!!

I tried to return a garage door opener in July from a purchase I made in March. Was going to install the opener when I went on Holidays at the lake in July. Opener was too small for my door. Went to return it and was told No Returns after 90 days. I wasn't told this when I bought it. Ask for the Manager, Lyle came over and had no care what so ever regarding Customer Service. I asked for a store credit instead of getting my money back, but he just says 'nothing he could do'. I went to Lowe's online and spoke with an agent, was told the Manager has the discretion to assist clients in situations like this. Obviously, Lyle doesn't care. Lowe's needs to train their Manager to show empathy and some caring when dealing with their clients. This guy is brutal!
