Kent & Andrew recently visited my home to take care of a minor issue (a squeaky hardwood floor and a crack resulting from contraction of the wood). Unlike many contractors, they were right on time for the appointment to do the work. They were very efficient, pleasant and professional. I highly recommend Smith Bros. flooring.

Originally wanted to replace our existing hardwood floors, Smith Brothers advised me that they could refinish the existing floor at a third of the cost ( saving me 1000's of dollars.) Work was on time, on budget and the crew was super talented, courteous, mindful of our needs and very professional.Finished product was beyond our expectations. Highly recommend Smith Brothers.

We are extremely pleased with our new floor by Smith Brothers. We made a lot of Calgary-wide showroom visits to evaluate options for our 800 ft2 reno. Smith Brothers provided great inputs about hardwood considerations, made us comfortable with options and our final decision. The installation was low fuss, the schedule followed tightly, and after care tool kit and instructions was icing on the cake. Thank you Smith Brothers.

I've been working with Mark Freeland at Smith Bros. Floors for several years now and he's always such a pleasure to work with. He and his team are always professional, courteous and skilled at their craft. My clients are always thrilled with the work done in their homes. I never hesitate to us them to do hardwood installations or refinishing because I know they will exceed my expectations.

Overall a good experience with some excellent highlights but a couple of detracting remarks. Rod Martin's experience was essential in helping us choose the right product for hardwood floor - something that would last up to a large dog, and something that would not perfectly match the existing hardwood, but would blend and contrast well. His product choice, and the actual product itself were excellent. Scheduling and communication with the company was also extremely timely. The installation itself went well. The guys were punctual and worked diligently finishing the install well in advance of the estimated date. The actual installation of the floor was very good. We're very happy with how it turned out. Site clean up, however, remained much to be desired and the installers did not bring any floor runners with them to protect our existing hardwood floor from the foot traffic in/out of the house. I had to provide the protective cover. While we appreciated the guys working long hours to complete the install ahead of time, we felt that site cleanup was curtailed. Although they vacuumed the interior work area quite well, we ended up down on hands and knees cleaning up the glue smears. The installers had tried to wipe up the glue spills, but had merely smeared it out into a thin sheen on the hardwood floor - a typical, hasty attempt to clean up. A fair amount of the packaging material had also blown over onto our neighbour's property which wasn't picked up and large, thick piles of sawdust were left on the front porch and stairway which had to be cleaned up. While I would recommend Smith Bros. to other consumers, purely for the knowledge, expertise, product and customer service, I would caution them with a caveat to watch for proper site cleanup and floor runners to protect your existing floor.
