Super helpful; I was ignored at another local hardware store but was pleasantly assisted in finding exactly what I needed here

my wife and i came in looking for the tiniest spring we could find to fix something of her's. They didnt have anything nearly that small in stock the older gentleman told me when i showed him what i needed. He told us to wait a minute and returned with 2 perfectly fitting springs hed taken out of a lock and gave them to us. I handed him $5 and he refused to take it and jjst said dont worry about it... i looked him in the eye and thanked him sincerely. Above and beyond the average effort given in a situation like that.

Although nostalgic for the old store (which was a block up the street) the "new" store has that old fashioned look and feel but is much better stocked and organized. There's a good mix of experienced old timers and energetic (and knowledgeable) youngsters staffing the store. Manager Tony seems to have a lot of experience in all sorts of repair and maintenance and keeps the staff on point. Easy to see why this store has been around for so long.

Friendly service and have always had the parts that I needed. They can be a little more expensive than a Home Depot. However, it is totally worth preserving the neighborhood store. They also do keys. Check before leaving, even though they are super nice about replacing if it doesn't work. :)
