Purchased area rug that was high pile. When we attempted to vacuum it the vacuum stuck in one position and would not move. We called our sales rep Linda and she "immediately" called the supplier who told her that instructions that came with the rug advised not to use vacuum to clean. These instructions however were written on the "invoice" not as as notice in the actual rug packaging. Linda told the supplier that the sales department "never sees the invoice" as it goes directly to Jenkins administration. The supplier was most affable and agreed to the return of the rug and we were credited fully by Jenkins. Step 1. Good all around We then picked a low pile rug which again was a special order. When it arrived it was very tightly over wrapped with heavy paper and poly and wrapped so tightly it took a hurculean effort to open. Upon opening it was discovered that contrary to standard practise, the rug was rolled "backward" or face in. So the ends were curled up and rug would not lay flat. In addition it had been "folded" rather than rolled so there were "ridges" every 10 inches on the surface. This rug had a "jute type" backing and the folding had cracked the backing fibre so we knew the rug would never lay flat. We decided to let it lie on the floor forbaveeeknto see if things would improve. No such luck ! Called Linda and she came up immediately and removed the rug. She then contacted the supplier rep and he concurred it was a mess. Herve ordered a replacement and gave instructions as to wrapping. Rug arrived at Jenkins last eeek and they are "hanging " it to insure it is A OK before delivery. If not to our satisfaction we will receive a full refund ! Step 2 Great service Jenkins and particularly Linda are "first class" all the way and really provide a top drawer, old fashioned level of service ! Kudos all around to Jenkins.
