Delighted with our floors in the bathrooms and master bedroom. It feels lovely underfoot and is so much softer to walk on than wood or tiles. We found the staff at Islington Flooring really knowledgeable, well organised and were refreshingly honest about what can and can't be done with the rooms. Wonderful customer service and professional throughout!

1. I phoned Islington Flooring on Oct 25 last year to pay a 50% deposit on a carpet I had ordered. I was told that James, the manager, was with a customer and would phone me back. He did not. I phoned them on numerous further occasions on Oct 26, 28, 29 and 30. Each time I was told James would phone me back. He did not. On one occasion, I asked the person who answered the phone to take a credit card payment and he told me he didn't know how to do so. I finally got hold of James on Oct 30 and paid the deposit. 2. An appointment was made for the carpet to be fitted on Nov 10. On Nov 8, I was phoned by Islington Flooring to be told that their supplier had let them down and that they would not be able to fit the carpet until the following week. They did not comment on whether their supplier would have been able to deliver the carpet if they had ordered it on Oct 25 when I had first contacted them to make the payment. 3. The fitters arrived on Nov 16 and did an excellent job. The fitters are not employees of Islginton Flooring but are self-employed. The fitters examined the underlay which had been there for more than 10 years. They said that it was in immaculate condition and didn't need to be replaced. We phoned Islington Flooring who, despite not having seen it themselves, overruled the fitters and insisted that the old underlay be ripped out and replaced with new underlay, adding £150 to the total cost. In addition, Islington Flooring had not given the fitters any door plates so they said they would have to return another time to finish the job. 4. The fitters returned on Dec 1 and fitted one plate. The second one was the wrong size and they said they'd have to get Islington Flooring to order the correct size and would return on another occasion to fit the second one. 5. The second plate was finally fitted in February, more than 4 months after the original order was placed. 6. I found Islington Flooring incredibly frustrating and stressful to deal with. If you say you're going to phone a customer back, why don't you do so? If a member of your staff answers the phone, why don't you train them to take a credit card payment?

The Islington flooring group were absolutely brilliant from start to finish. James who served me was very helpful and was patient with me when choosing the floor covering I eventually went for. The fitters did a superb job and were very polite when entering my home. I wouldn’t chose any other flooring company.

Thanks again Islington Flooring! This is the second time I've used the company and I cannot fault them. Staff were always courteous and helpful, and made the whole process very easy. Impressive selection too. Recommended.
