Nicole and Lowana are awesome! Between painting my entire house and cabinets I’ve bought a lot of paint there. They are always helpful and essential to the Athens store! Thanks for your help and friendliness!

I shop Lowe's a lot and have usually had good experiences. Recently, however, I purchased a Maytag Centennial "high efficiency" washing machine. It sounds like a jet plane taking off in my utility room--by far the most noisy washer I've ever seen! Even though I live in a large house with the utility room in an isolated section behind a closed door, this washer is too loud to tolerate. I have to let the washer run while I'm gone to church or out shopping. I spoke to the appliance guy at Lowe's. He said it's perfectly normal--just the way the new washers are these days. I doubt that. I read 28 other reviews on the Maytag and nearly all of them complained about how loud this washer is. I'm seriously afraid my new Maytag is on the way to the city dump and I'm going to have to spend another $500 just to get a Whirlpool or Kenmore that doesn't sound like it's taking the end of my house out. Avoid Maytag. They have a good history, a good name (once) and were probably good machines in your grandma's day. But not any more. Bad news.

Worst customer service ever! The two older people in the paint area were very rude and unwilling to assist me finding products in the store. So I wandered around and stumbled upon another Lowe’s employee in a brown jacket who looked to be sorting through products in a cart. I patiently waited about a minute beside her and she would not acknowledge me. I said excuse me ma’am twice and she finally lifted her head and gave me a dirty look. I said hello to her with no reply from her. I gave up with the normal pleasantries and asked her where wood shims were. She said she did not know. There was an awkward pause with no imitative on her behalf to further assist me. When I asked if she could call someone she told me to go to the service desk in lumber. Wouldn’t you know that’s where the damn shims were. Who would’ve thought. Screw these people. I will never step foot in that store again if I don’t get a response from management on this issue. I heard that Home Depot will be here by the end of the year!

I love this place and if you are sure what it is you are looking for, it's painless. If you need help, it depends on which associate you ask. Some are wonderful, some not so much. Do your research beforehand and good luck.
