My late wife, Jane, and I patronized this establishment when we purchased our home in Blacklake in November 2010. There were no window coverings on five windows and a glass door. Privacy was not the issue since that side of the house faces a mini forest on the Blacklake Golf Course. Our concern was energy efficiency, so we ordered Hunter-Douglas Duette blinds to reduce thermal loss. Amy Brown, the proprietor came to our house, measured, etc. and within a week or so we had the blinds installed, and our comfort level improved. In the two bedrooms and master bath, the window treatments were plantation shutters, poorly constructed of plastic, which were deteriorating from exposure to the sun. Additionally, the original carpet, of marginal quality was showing its age(10 years). Jane and I talked about replacing the carpet and doing something about the windows, but we had other priorities. Our lives took a definite change of direction in mid 2013. Jane died of a septic infection and two months later, I learned I had colorectal cancer. After treatment, and some complicating medical events, I concluded I wanted to replace the carpet, and replace the shutters with Hunter-Douglas blinds. I returned to the establishment, conversed with Amy, got a cost estimate, and agreed to have the work done. This required some coordination with her contractors to remove the shutters, patch and paint and then have blinds and carpet installed. During the entire time, the project proceeded smoothly. I can unequivocally recommend this shop.
