Great prices on countertops and flooring

Sep 6, 2017
I do not recommend this place and will not use them again. Good selection and decent prices mean nothing if your customer service is horrible. Three different companies installed three different types of flooring in our new house.... the other two companies I used asked where we were getting the wood from and they BOTH literally shook their heads when I told them I went to Lumber Liquidators in Santa Clarita to buy my wood. I figured they were just trying to get me to use them. But now I see what they meant. I bought bamboo flooring from here to install in the entire downstairs area... 60 boxes of wood, roughly $5,000.00 worth. We were given different amounts of time to let the wood acclimate before installing.... we were told at least 3 weeks..., 3-4 weeks preferably to be safe because it was a really thick wood. The staff told us stories of how people don't let the wood acclimate properly and then they have problems, to which Lumber Liquidators can't help because they didn't follow the proper acclimation instructions. So we let ours sit for 4 weeks.... had it installed, which took a week or so to complete. We were encouraged by salesman Irving Castillo to order at least 10% extra to make sure we had enough because we could return the amount not used. Of the 60 boxes ordered, we ended up with 4 unused boxes of wood to return. 4 boxes! $300 worth!!!! I went to return them and Irving told me they couldn't accept the return because we were past the 30 day return window. WHAT? Him nor any of them said anything at any point about a 30 day return window. He then points to the small print in the paperwork and with an attitude says "Hey... it's says it right there in black & white". I said "How are we supposed to make a 30 day return window when you recommend that the wood acclimate for 30 day?" He said sorry... nothing he could do. I asked to speak to his manager. He told me the manager was supposed to be in an hour ago but wasn't in yet. I asked if he could call the manager to find out what time he would be in.... Irving told me that he didn't have his manager's number because he lost his cell phone with the number in it. Apparently... the manager's phone number isn't written down anywhere in that entire place, or so he would have me to believe. Irving told me that he would have the manager call me as soon as he got in. Three hours later and still no call. At that point I just called the corporate office and dealt with them. They were easy to deal with and refunded me the $300 within a few days with no problems. Bad customer service. I don't have time for BS games... and I don't appreciate the attitude when I tried to return 4 out of 60 boxes of wood.. I don't know if I'll ever use Lumber Liquidators again, probably not, but if I do.... I will not go to this location again. I recommend using someone else... or at the very least... drive to another LL location.

I do not recommend Limber Liquidators. They do not stand behind their product and the minute you have a problem they claim 0 responsibility and blame the installers. Which in the sales process they call them “their” installers but when a problem arises they aren’t affiliated with LL. We spent $10,000 on hardwood floors/installation for our entire downstairs. When we picked out our floors the salesmen showed us durable wood as requested because we have 4 active kids and the wood in our last house really held up beautifully over 12 yrs. We followed every reccomendation they gave. The installers came and took a moisture test, measurements and let us know how long to let the would acclimate. The day they installed the floors it was obvious that some boxes had a different finish and didn’t match the rest. Their solution was to scatter the matte planks throughout so it would be less obvious. At this point a significant amount of these matte planks were already set. “Once the floors are done and the furniture is in you wouldn’t even notice.” Is what they said. Immediately i noticed denting from a plastic chair i sat in on the wood. The wood is so soft that even with pads on every leg of ever piece of furniture it still leaves a dent when you sit on the furniture. I spilled some water on the floor in the kitchen and i went to grab a towel to clean it up and once it was cleaned up there was swelling between the joints immediately. Terrible ripples everywhere. When i pulled the fridge away from the wall to dry the water that had seaped under it pulled the top layer of “wood” off from the wheels of the fridge. Along with dents just from rolling the fridge in n out. We hired an outside engineer to come test the wood to the tune of $1700 as instructed by LL. They concluded that the wrong glue and insuffient moisture barrier were used when installed but still neither LL or the installers wanted to accept responsibility. Just constant run around and 0 responsibility. I absolutely will never step foot in lumber liquidators again for any reason and i definitely do not reccomend them.
