I purchased a home, and wanted to replace the carpet before moving in. (3 rooms, ~ 900 ft^2) However, once I paid 50% for the deposit, the service from Walthers fell apart and large delays and poor communication compounded. I initiated 12 phone calls + 6 emails over 14 days to *set* an install date. This churn of communication blew past my expected install date (from time of deposit), plus the delay from manufacturer, to be 27 days after paying deposit to install. My initial impression of Walther’s was very positive, as my in-person visit to the storefront prompted to me schedule measurements with some samples. They followed-up nicely, as I indicated I had a few more quotes coming in a week, which I had to delay a decision as *those* shops missed their appointments, requiring reschedules. I selected a brand of carpet- Fabrica- which was repeatedly noted by floor sales and measurer to be produced in SoCal, rather than most other carpet brands established east coast, which meant it was generally quicker (1-2 weeks) vs (2-4 weeks), plus yay SoCal. The install itself started 10 am and finished about 7 pm. I left after about an hour after checking that they wouldn’t need anything else from me. I received a message from Walther’s at 7 pm wanting to do a final walk-through and sign-off. Next day, around noon was able to receive the call, which was nothing involving a walk-through or quality of the work, just my credit card info. Happy with the quality of the installed product, though all the fuzzies from cutting the carpet were left and took an hour to vacuum all up. A few spots in the corners / edges have pulls and damage.

I looked at several other places for floating floor material to install over an old, hard-to-maintain white tile floor with cracks in numerous places. Los Altos Carpet and my remodeling contractor agreed that I could avoid tearing out the old tile floor, a big savings. Los Altos Carpet had the best selection- including some things quite different from what I'd seen everywhere else, and I found a product I was entirely happy with. The material was delayed coming from the vendor, and the installer was kept longer on the previous job, so my timing had to be adjusted, but not much. In the real world, this stuff happens. The difference between a "does a fine job" supplier when everything goes smoothly, and a supplier who deals with unavoidable problems promptly and effectively is what sets the best ones apart. Importantly, Patricia kept me informed and worked with me to adjust the installation date. I had pulled off the old baseboards in advance, and will replace with new. The job looks excellent. I'll go back to them when I'm ready for some wall-to-wall material later in the remodel.

Sam and Patricia were very responsive on the sales call and customer service. The quality of the carpet was excellent, even better than some others we'd been quoted elsewhere at the same price. There were some minor technical flaws with the installation, but they were very capable and fixed things when pointed out. While we hadn't first been told it would be a two-day installation, they worked hard to get it done in those two days. We are very satisfied.

I highly recommend Walther's Los Altps Carpet 1. In short, they did a fantastic job installing the carpet, tile and engineering hardwood at our home. They helped us to select all the material, provided advise on what would be best for our needs and budget, and gave us a quote that no one could beat. After we placed the order, we changed our mind on the carpet. They were very receptive and helped us to change the order. They were very proactive in setting the installation date and making sure everything was OK, including the wood acclimatizing. The tile and the carpet installation were done on a timely manner or even ahead of schedule, but the wood installation took longer than expected. We did not mind because they made it very clear that they would not rush the job if that implied compromising the quality of the installation. We were extremely satisfied when the job was completed. There were a few misunderstandings during the process, but Sam and Patricia were always happy to resolve any issue. We couldn’t be happier, we have a new flooring through all the house for many years to enjoy. Thanks Los Altos Carpet 1!

Have had great experience right from the time I stepped in to the store, being guided in every step of the process to get the right material and purchase and eventually delivery and setting up of the needed at our house.. for sure a 5+ star experience. Patricia in particular has been nothing but awesome through out the process.. Thanks once again.
