I researched my flooring decision thoroughly before deciding on Interior Technique. And, compared to what I would have paid the big national chain, I saved over $9,000 and got a beautiful, high quality, engineered acacia floor! I'm not saying that was the price difference between the two, I actually decided to install the floor myself. It took me nearly 2 months (mainly weekends and some evenings) to do 4 large rooms, 8 stairs, a hallway, and a bath, but I highly recommend it! I'm now enjoying a beautiful floor that's all paid off, instead of making payments for years! Plus, how else can you make $9,000 in 2 months, in your spare time? Now here are a few reasons why Interior Technique was our choice for the flooring; 1. They carry all the quality brands of hardwood flooring. 2. They offer very competitive prices, and free in-house estimates. 3. Mike & Dustin are some of the nicest, and most professional people I've ever worked with. 4. Mike & Dustin are former installers themselves, so they can give you priceless time-saving, and money-saving advice, as they did many times for me. 5. If you don't want to tackle the installation job yourself, I'm convinced that their installation crews are the best in the business. That became obvious whenever they gave me the advice I frequently sought out. Now you may think that you could get this kind of advice from any hardwood floor place, but you'd be wrong. Lumber Liquidators doesn't even employ installers, they contract the work out, so who are you going to call with your questions? Empire, on the other hand, tried to talk us into a "floating floor" installation. That would have been a huge mistake in our home, and in many homes in this area. Without getting into a detailed comparison, just check the reviews on Empire Today Flooring, and floating floors, before you buy. I also want to mention that, when comparing within a price range, the quality of Interior Technique's engineered hardwood was much better than what we saw in other places. The overall thickness, and the top layer of true hardwood, was thicker, and more robust than the similar product from Lumber Liquidators. And, after installing more than a thousand square feet myself, I can say that the flaw rate I saw was well under 1%! You won't regret going with these guys!

Perhaps I am a picky customer and I want things a certain way, I expect communication back and forth and I expect companies to keep their word about doing a good job and 100% guarantee. . .if you are like me then you should not go with these people because as the cliche goes "talk is cheap". It is extremely difficult to pick a company blindly. But if you friends don't know anyone in the business then you have to just hope that you choose the right company. My fear that a company will tell you everything you want to hear upfront, but when the job is done you are left unsatisfied they will be there to make it right.. . .Well the response I got was "tough luck". . and "too bad" you already paid us so if you want us to come back you have to pay us MORE MONEY. Well my fear came true! If you don't care about service, if you couldn't care less about some floor scratches, some minor flaws in the work, if you just want someone to do the job. . .an okay job, and you don't care. . . then this is the business for you. Bottom line is that the company said they would come back and fix a problem, but when I called them on it they said it would now cost me another $250. AND I paid it because I got quotes from other installer that it would cost me a lot more to redo someone elses work. They would not come back unless I paid that extra amount. They originally said I could pay $50 extra which was the original offer, but when I took them up on their word, they said that I would be taking advantage of their company if they came back for only $50. They said it would be for material cost in case any of the transitions broke, but none of them did and they were all reused. Oh, and I had to wait two weeks for the follow up. I got quotes from 3 other installers and they were not the cheapest ones. You should double check the measurements and compare the square footage because apparently an inch is not measured the same way by everyone. They had the highest square footage measurements. So, hey . . .did they do a crap job? NO, but don't expect any follow through on service or guarantees on anything. I have nothing in writing that the install work is guaranteed. I blame myself for not getting this beforehand and choosing this company. I blame myself for believing in the good will of people that they will follow through. I blame myself for giving a young company some business when I should have gone with a more senior company who knows what service is. Service is not saying "thank you" a million times . . . it's being professional, getting things in writing and not taking customer request as personal. I paid them fully each time the work was completed by check and it was cashed immediately so the way I see it, all I can do is write a yelp review since my money is gone.

Interior Texhnique installed all the floor in my clients Solana Beach home. Dr. Rankweer is a very picky client, but the flooring really pulls the design together. The store has so many selections you can get dizzy, but they really had some great ideas and I ended up going with their choice in product.

Super helpful staff. I've never seen so many flooring mouldings in one place. Great experience. Will return.
