Let me start by saying that my neighbors used this company & had a good experience. I didn't realize at the time I purchased from them that they contracted out the installation. So your experience will be as good as the group they get to do it. I had the full house done - wood, tile & carpet. The crew they sent to my house was appalling. It's important to note that the new baseboards I had installed were all marked up. I was told that you have to paint these after they are installed. I doubt that is standard practice, but it's worth noting their posiition. Here are the pro's & cons
Pros
* Casey was good to work with, but then was on vacation during the installation. It would seem that they don't cover for each other, because I was repeatedly told I would have to talk to him.
* They have a nice selection of wood flooring and their prices are pretty good.
Cons
* As I said you experience will only be as good as the crew you get. The lead person did not speak much English and there is no one supervising their work. So when I ran into problems I was on my own to struggle to make them understand my concerns.
* I took pictures, but as you will see they aren't the best. First off they were the messiest workers I have ever seen. They set up their work area at my front door, even though there was an area in the backyard that had direct access to the house. The entrance to my home was a complete disaster the whole time they were there. They never once cleaned up at the end of the day. My realtor was horrified when she saw the mess. She said she had never seen such sloppy workers.
* I had explained that my house was for sale & that I had areas freshly painted and asked them to please be careful. My house was being put on the market immediately following this installation. I had to have the painter come back out and touch up the cabinets, stairs & door. By the time they got to the kitchen, I knew enough to wrap all of the cabinets & the granite counter tops so they wouldn't be able to damage those. There were so many marks on all of the walls, that I finally told them that their boss would have to pay to repair the damage they were doing (this seemed to reduce the amount of damage). I have pictures of these, but have not included them here. It took me 4 hours to touch up the marks on the walls. I lost count at 35 places they had hit the walls.
* The lead person asked if he could have people over for lunch. I said yes they could use the back patio area - they threw cardboard down on my new wood floors, brought out a cooker & make lunch right there in my living room with their friends.
* The front door which was freshly painted was splattered with some kind of white mixture. They also hit the paint near the door with this substance.
* I complained that they covered my freshly barked area with cut up carpet from the house, and that carpet fibers were spread through out the bark. They just shrugged. There were piles of saw dust on the bark. I had to re-bark the area when they were done. I am still finding fibers weeks later.
* I paid for some of the base boards to be replaced. I have included pictures of the end result. I was then told that I must repaint the baseboards after installation.
* The grout on the tile is so uneven in color. I don't know if they mixed dirt in it, or how they got the color so noticeably uneven, but it is. The installer kept trying to tell me that it was just because parts were still wet. A week later they were still uneven and remain so today.
* When I told Casey that I was going to have to give their company a bad review, he said what can I do. I told him that he could send better quality people and have someone supervise the work.
Summary
Overall, this was unnecessarily upsetting & stressful. I had a lot of work & incurred further unnecessary costs as a result. I can't recommend this company, because obviously, you can't count on getting a good crew. I haven't posted pictures yet - there must be a way to do it, but I don't see it here.
