I tried to take advantage of Home Depot's free carpet installation not realizing they used a third party installer, Hom Solutions. After weeks of preparation and a day off work, the installers arrived at my house. 20 minutes later they were instructed to leave. Hom Solutions called me and told me I would need to rent a storage POD and reschedule the install. She told me there was not enough time for the installers to move my furniture because of the small confines of my house. What I don't understand is that they had all the exact measurements of my entire house. I have typical furniture, no odd or abnormally large items. Considering they advertise their employees to be professional carpet installers, they should have been aware of the work required to install my carpet in compliance of Home Depot's "free" install "to include removal of furniture". I cancelled the install and have been refunded by Home Depot, who didn't even try to keep my business....evidently, Home Depot has dealt with dissatisfied customers before.

Bought carpet through HomeDepot for the free installation in a new house in another state. You get what you pay for, that's for sure. Hom Solutions was the installer. My builder worked w/ HD and was assured that they could complete the install by our drop dead date (Oct 31) before our move in date (Nov 4). My builder heard nothing. She called Hom Solutions and was told they couldn't install until 11/16 because they didn't have any installers who were willing to come to our location (we were 30 min outside town). Telling a customer that no installer wants to do the work is not good business when your company is an installation company. My builder and I talked to Magdelena almost daily and she pretty much gave the impression she couldn't care less that I had moving trucks scheduled, flights booked, and needed to close on the house before I could move in and could not close without carpet. She told me and my builder she'd try to find an installer who would do it by the deadline promised to us, but she kept saying she'd call back and never once did she. We ended up having to pay extra to store or stuff and stay in a hotel until they could install on 11/16 and we could close on the house. It would have been cheaper just to pay someone to install the carpet. This "free" installation cost us a bundle. The installers showed up in their own personal car with the carpet and it was a man, his wife, and teenage son who came to install the carpet. The guy was basically coaching his wife and son on what to do and it did not give me comfort that an untrained teenage boy was doing some of my carpet installation. In addition, these people chain smoked so the parents were constantly going outside to smoke and leaving the teenage inside to continue working. They smelled so strongly of smoke I had to air out the house when they left and I found cigarette butts in my yard. This was the most unprofessional company and installers I think I've ever had experience with. I cannot believe Home Depot would use them. What made it more frustrating is when my builder escalated to management at Home Depot, they didn't seem to care either and basically said the issue was between us and the installer and they had nothing to do with it. IT IS THEIR INSTALLER!! My builder builds alot of houses and has used Home Depot for alot of carpet, but since Home Depot's switch to Hom Solutions she said she will advise her customers not to use Home Depot for carpet. I advise anyone else to run and find someone else to do your flooring installs.

After purchasing carpet from Home depot we were told we would be contacted by their 3rd party installer(hom solutions) with in a week. After waiting that time we were never contacted. At which point we contacted them ourselves. While speaking with Magdalena she searched the warehouse for the carpet, and said it had not arrived. After days of waiting & not hearing anything I contacted hom solutions again, and once again was told they did not have it. I then called Home Depot to find out that Hom solutions received the carpet the week prior to me calling. After numerous back & fourth calls to Home Depot & Hom Solutions our installation date was set. Arrival time was between 11-1pm. Installers did not arrive till 2:30. Almost immediately installers began making excuses and stated they may have to come back to finish the job. We told them that was not an option as it was Friday afternoon, and I was not going to leave my entire house in shambles for the weekend. After working in the bedrooms(carpet still needed to be layed)they began carpet rip up in the living room at which point we received a call from Renee. She stated she would be pulling her installers as the job was "too large" to complete that day. She went on to say that the installers would have to return Monday due to the fact that other appointments were scheduled for Saturday. What company leaves an incomplete job to start another? After quite sometime of arguing with rude and unprofessional office staff, we came to an agreement with the installers that they would try their best to complete the job that evening. Dispite office staff insisting they were going to pull employees from the job. Might I add that myself & family members ripped up & prepped the living room just to get the job completed that night. Entire experience from start to finish was HORRIBLE!!! Very unprofessional and unorganized staff( Renee, Magdalena, & Norma). I will NEVER do business with Hom solutions in the future and if I were you stay far away!!!! Oh, and to sum it up we received two calls asking for a good review.
