New construction home built in 2013. Floor has numerous gaps in boards, and boards are not tight to the subfloor and flex up and down. I hired an independent flooring inspector to determine the cause of the issues. It was determined by the inspector my issues were due to excessive moisture in the sub floor during installation and improper nail pattern per manufacturer specifications, and or improper acclamation of hardwood. Nail pattern per manufacturer specs located on the website indicate blind nail pattern of 6-8". Nail pattern in my floor is 8-12" and in excess of 15" in several areas. One board doesn't even have any staples in it. Walk on Wood Floors replaced one portion of the floor and attempted to fix several areas by drilling holes in the floor and installing screws from underneath the subfloor to pull down the hardwood. Owner of company advised me the hardwood floor was installed over the subfloor when it was wet causing my issues. Owner advised me he would screw the hardwood floor down from underneath the subfloor and face nail it to solve the problems.
