Needed an item that wasn't on the shelf, but there was more of on a high shelf. Needed an associate, and he is the reason for a 5 star review. His name was Curtis. I don't think we were in his department, but he was very cheerful and helped out. He got down the item we needed and he was very entertaining and had a great attitude. Like I said it didn't appear to be his department, but he tried to help out the other people in the aisle when he was done with us (they had some questions). Great stories and made it an enjoyable experience, which is hard to say for most retail experiences today.

Great place to shop for anything home related. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. My family has shopped here for 10 years and have never been disappointed. An added bonus is the 10% military discount they offer every day...

Poor customer service. I bought a pickup truck load of wood. I was on my knees trying to pull wood from back of shelf, 4 Lowe's employees walked by and no one asked to help. I pulled my truck around to load. There were 3 helping another customer load. When they finished no one asked if I needed help they just walked away. Home Depot here I come!

Typical big box home improvement store. Can be difficult to find things, especially someone to ask assistance from. Did buy major appliances. They were sympathetic to our situation and expedited delivery and installation. The above review is true but since then, selection and service has been really bad. Signage is bad and often outdated. Finding assistance is difficult. Employees at the customer service desk seem often to be new employees who can assist. Managers seem to be hunkered down in some back office. If you need something immediate and the item is common or decorative you will probably do okay; that is if you don't mind a hike. My past several experiences have been very disppointing and has made me a fan of Home Depot. Win or lose in finding you needed items, the Depot has generally stellar customer assistance, readily available. My recent trip to Lowe's was based on immediacy and nearby location. I needed an 18 inch lawn mower blade and a half moon lawn edger. I knew I could find the blade but I had no expectation that I would find the edger. Wrong. They has the edger but not the blade. They had blades which took several employees to find. However in an area surrounded by miles of one fifth acre lots, they didn't have a smaller, but standard 18 inch blade. To sum up, I hate Lowes. I'll never shop there again.

Customer service could be better. Cashier called me "sir" when I'm clearly not one. Also, one of the helpers in the aisles told me that a vent air diverter would work as long as the register grate is metal. It is metal. The diverter's magnets aren't strong enough to hold it (It's on the ceiling). So, now I have to buy some rare earth magnets and affix them to it, somehow. I bought a water filter for my refrigerator on the advice of another helper, and now the water won't work at all. I have been replacing filters in this appliance for 11 years, so I know how to do it. Overall, I'm irritated about this experience, but they at least had the weatherstripping I needed.
