Had carpet and hard wood floors installed by them. They were hired by the restoration company. The carpet part went fine, my carpet is beautiful. They broke my bed frame when moving it and I was able to have them reimburse me for the cost of the repairs. Bernhardt bedroom suite, so top quality, not poorly made. But the hardwood floor was a nightmare. Yes, there was defective material involved, but it was installed defective and I feel that someone higher up, other than the installers, should have monitored the process, and checked on the installation as it was progressing. Not let the entire floor be installed, and me have to bring it to their attention that it is defective. That floor was removed. and more material brought in to install. This too was defective, and another installer was sent to do the job and he agreed it was defective and refused to install the material. A third set of material was ordered, mind you all of this is taking months to process, and when I was told it finally arrived, I was told they did not want to install it , because if it was again defective, they could not put in another warranty claim to the company and they wanted me to pick another floor! I asked them to examine the material before they installed it to be sure it was OK, and they said they would not do that, they didn't want to put any more time into this project because they had already had to rip out one bad floor. So I was being penalized for defective material, and I really felt like I was being bullied. I was told if I let this floor be installed and it was defective, I would be stuck with it. The final outcome was, I told them that was the floor I wanted, and to bring the material to my home and I would have someone examine the material to be sure it was fine. It was good and it was installed. Except the transition piece was installed so badly that there was this gap between my wall the the transition piece and it rocked back and forth! I made them take that out, they had to order another piece which took almost three weeks, and then their installer could not get the transition piece installed flush to the floor ( after four attempts ) and I had to have someone from the restoration company do that! Hardwood floors I have learned, need to acclimate to the environment that it is being installed into. The first time they delivered the wood, it was not given the proper amount of time before they installed it. If you are a professional, you treat your customers like a professional and perform your work like a professional. This entire experience with my hardwood floor was horrible. Sales people are always nice when they want to make a sale, but it is how you are treated when there is a problem that makes or breaks a company. I would not want anyone to go through what I had to with this company.
