I needed my house carpeted in a hurry because I was selling it. I was hoping to support a local business and I heard good things about H&W. The entire team exceeded my expectations at every step. They have a great selection of carpets and a friendly sales staff. Marvin came over right away and gave me a reasonable quote. The only problem we encountered was that two of his installation teams were away. Marvin got to work calling around and was able to secure a team and get my house carpeted within 3 days! The carpet looks great and I was able to get the house on the market right away. Thanks Marvin and H&W!

I wasn't sure if I wanted to write this review...but since I've had a problem both times I've used this company, I think it needs a reality check if you choose to work with them. 1. The sales staff is fine. They seem nice, but what you order and request is not what gets installed. And that is hugely frustrating. 2. The sub-contractors are just not professional. Out of the 3 teams I used, only one was decent...but even then, I had to pay a person afterwards to fix their mistakes. So this last time, I ordered a trim to cover the connection between the floor in the bathroom that was laid and the new carpet. And the installer refused to install it and simply tucked the carpet under the bathroom flooring at the crease. In addition to refusing that work (I even paid for the material) he refused to caulk around the toilet and only did part of the trim glue...which was peeling off the next day. The team that came after...again, they're ok, but they refused to fix the mistake the other installer made. And the sales team that I was working with only told me to ask them to fix it. Again, they refused...I can't make someone do it. But I can take my business elsewhere. I have two more rooms and a huge living space to do next. I would rather pay more, for a professional job, than save pennies for a job I have to get redone. Don't use them...get someone that will do the job right.

The "Family Owned" is generally over-hyped in advertisements. H&W is the reason I want to deal with a family owned store. H&W has three generations working, and they all do a great job. No waiting for my salesman to be in, everyone just gets questions answered, and the job done. I particularly appreciated the carpet education, it made buying decisions easier, and more confident. I will defiantly be doing business with H&W in the future!
