Cory from sound floors did a super great job for me doing the gypsum light weight concrete and sound proofing. I would highly recommend them. They are fast and professional.

I had the pleasure of working with soundfloors and couldn’t be more pleased with their work! Their entire work ethic was more than what we could have asked for, beings their work was done in a neat and timely manner. They always complete their days with great clean up work and show up ready to complete their task. Their gypsum concrete floors were very smooth and held up great! Can’t wait to work with them again in the future !

I called on a Monday to agree to Corys quoted price and to get scheduled to level my basement concrete floor. I was told by Cory that he was driving and he would call me back in half an hour. My call was never returned. I called back on Tuesday and an appointment was set to level my floors at 9 o’clock Saturday. I called and confirmed the appointment on Thursday and no one showed up Saturday. No one answered the phones, returned voice and texts messages. I find it rather insulting when you have to find ways to get your kids to and from soccer games on a Saturday so you can be home for a contractor that doesn’t bother to show up or communicate they will not be coming. This experience with Cory has left me feeling that this company is more of a side job rather then a full time business. I would definitely not recommend!!

If I could give negative stars to this company I would. I live in a condo and there was a considerable "squeaking" noise coming from the upstairs resident which was diagnosed by most experts as loose nails in the floorboards. We later discovered there was gypsum concrete underneath the carpet, so the project required the demo of gypsum concrete, nailing down floorboards underneath, and repouring gypsum afterwards. I contracted Sound Floors to do the job. To make this possible, I had to arrange and pay for movers, alternative housing, the cost of the remodel, as well as a new carpet. Because there are four different parties involved, I had to schedule, and pay for many of the services in question before the actual demo occurred. Before Cory showed up, I had already spend $5k in alternative housing, movers, as well as carpet as the company could not be scheduled until the carpet was first paid for. I spoke with Del and Cory through email and phone on a number of occasions before deciding to use their services. They appeared professional and men of their word, and assured on more than one occasion that they did not need to come see the unit before performing the work. I took their word for it and arranged everything else. The day of construction, Cory showed up and effectively told me that they could not fix the problem. He also told me I was to remove the tackstrips on the carpet despite me asking a number of times if there was anything for me to prep, in which he responded "no." He told me the issue was structural and that I most likely had to hire a structural engineer to remedy the issue. I had already spent $5k by this time. Luckily, I found a subcontractor on hand who disagreed with Cory's assessment. They went ahead and demoed parts of the gypsum and nailed down the floorboards beneath. The squeaking noise has now been reduced by over 90% and the problem was in fact, not structural. My overall assessment of Sound Floors is that they basically say all the right things, but when it comes time to deliver, they drop the ball. They almost cost me nearly $5k because of their unprofessionalism and perhaps worst of all, they were absolutely wrong with their assessment. I don't write this post out of spite, as I am more disappointed than anything else. I really enjoyed the attitude of both Cory and Del, and it's disappointing that they weren't the real thing.
