We go here frequently being newish homeowners. Seriously, like at least once a week usually. We always find the workers to be helpful and very nice. They always talk to our daughters and love petting our pup when he is with us!

I am in the process of giving my bathroom a "face lift " and needed to order a custom counter as the dimensions were not a standard size. Alison Thrift was the design consultant who helped me this past week. I should have made an appointment as I went there on a Saturday morning. When I arrived she was with someone and would not be available until 1:00 pm (it was 11:30). She was kind enough to cut her lunch break short and help me with the counter. She was very helpful, provided me with options that I was not aware were available. This young lady knows her stuff! I also want to acknowledge another employee in this department. Her name was CC and she let me know that Alison would be a little while until she was done with the customer she was assisting. She offered me a bottled water while I waited. The only frustration that I have is that I had a question and have tried calling 3 times today and there is no one to answer the phones in that department. I guess I will keep trying.

I reserved a Penske 12ft truck to be picked up at this location. Upon my arrival, I went to the customer service desk to proceed the checking out of the truck. From the minute I was there, I could tell that I was a hassle to their day and they wanted me gone. One of the associates stated that they didn't have my truck and I could take a 26ft truck that they did have. I stated that I could not due to low clearance and I needed the 12ft truck. I was then told that there was nothing they could do since Penske was closed and then the representative walked away. I over heard one associate say that they knew the truck wasn't there prior to my arrival but "it wasn't there problem". Needless to say, I was able to go to the Jonestown Rd location and pick up the 12ft truck they had there. It is clear that the associates at the Mechanicsburg location have forgotten who actually pays their bills. I have never walked into a store and felt like I was a problem being their customer. Management should be ashamed of themselves for condoning this behavior among their staff. It is safe to say that I will not be back.

Avoid their prodesk at all costs. We had our kitchen quoted by an actual design company when building our new house. HD said to have everything quoted by the pro desk and they will match or beat the price. My builder sent all of the documents and had previously ordered the complete wood for framing from them. He told us to go talk to the procenter to confirm they have the same cabinets. We did this and signed off on the cabinets. They confirmed they can get the same counter tops. The cabinets got installed and we have unfinished edges from the backer on the island and the end pieces because they don't actually make a trim piece to cover it. The counter tops get installed, which my builder signed off on the template for (but had no clue what we selected with Erin at the prodesk). The edge is wrong (we never picked an edge nor were we asked), the island does not have the 12" overhang that it was supposed to have. When asked who picked the edge they can't produce paperwork where we selected it (because it doesn't exist) and they only produce the paperwork where the builder signed off on the template. Talked to the prodesk, nothing they will do. Talked to the regional manager, Chris, who also blamed the builder and said nothing they will do. So, after spending $100k+ at HD, I have to move into a house where I have to fix the kitchen immediately at my cost. Not great service, just blaming the builder. The owners make the selections, produce the paperwork where I signed off on the edge...oh wait, it doesn't exist. Lost a customer permanently considering you are right next door to Lowe's.
