Well, the big box stores have taken over, so you really have a choice now between home Depot and Lowe's. I just went to home Depot, 25 minutes away, to get top soil, compost, and peat moss that I used to buy at Benny's, which was 5 minutes away. Needless to say: I am not happy. However, as far as a store goes, home Depot has always provided superior service and products.

Great place. And the garden department manager, Jimmy Rodgers is a botanical genius. Great guy.

Brian in Paint had the patience to custom blend from white to the gray color I hoped for. Took a lot of time but he was amazing.

I ordered something online which they cancelled almost immediately because they were out of stock. However, they still charged my card and took my money. When I called, not only did they confirm that they were the ones that cancelled the order but no refund process had been initiated. They charged me and were going to take my money without saying a word about it. First time I called they said they initiated the refund which is untrue. The charge posted to my account. When I called a second time(1 hr on the phone) they gave me the runaround and basically came to the conclusion that even though they never sold me anything I will be out the money for around 10 business days, 2 full WEEKS! And thats if I get the money back. Do not buy online from home depot! They charge you immediately and apparently hold your money hostage! It seems to me that they are hoping that you don't notice the charge and are trying to keep peoples money due to the high volume of shopping done during the holiday season. Beware!!!!!
