Purchased Stainmaster carpet in January, installed February 26. 10 days later the carpet had pulled, leaving long threads -- 5 spots originally, but now many more. Stains would not come out despite following - exactly - the instructions from Stainmaster On Friday, March 9, called Service Pros, the Lowes Installation people because Lowes told me "we're just the Middle Man." Call was not returned until the middle of the following week. A representative finally came out March 20 -- said the carpet was defective and "this style should never have been sold to you." He wrote a report, took pictures and said Lowes would be in touch to resolve the issue. One month went by during which I made multiple calls to ServicePros who finally returned my call, quite irritated that I was still calling them when "it is not an installation problem." I went to the store on April 26 complaining again; that afternoon someone called me and said "want you to know we are working on it." Three more weeks went by and I went to the store on May 16. On the 17th I got a message to call CPO and once again, give the details of the story. Friday the 18th I was told a claim had been filed with Stainmaster weeks ago and they should have contacted me. CPO asked me to give them until Monday the 21 to resolve this with Stainmaster. We have already made half of the payments and have a piece of junk for carpet. We want it OUT of the house and money back. It is now 10:00pm on the 21st and I'm posting this to the Court of Public Opinion so others know what to expect for service and quality of product when (and if) carpet is purchased. Next post will be Facebook, Home Advisor and on to Small Claims Court. Sorry Lowes, but you blew it this time. Your good customers will go someplace else.
