Our house was built in 1955 and the hardwood floors were never finished. After calling James he came out and gave us a price that was better than our local floor guy and we immediately signed the contract.. We live south of Emporia and it was over an hours drive to the job site, however the crew was there bright and early, started work quickly and at the end of day two they were ready to put the Poly down. After two coats the floors (over 1000 Sq Ft) looked brand new. James took the time to explain everything up front on how they would do it and what they needed us to do before they started. After the floors were done he again told us in detail how to care for them and what to do and not to do. Over all, this is the best experience I have had with any contractor, and I have dealt with many in my 40 years of home owership, James and his crew are the best.

Had a wonderful experience with James and his guys. The crew showed up every morning at the time we agreed upon ( after kids left for school). We picked a water based stain which allowed us to stay in the house after the sanding process. Thankfully it was nice all week. The process was originally going to take 3 days but the stain they applied turned out a lot lighter then I wanted ( wood does it’s own thing sometimes)! James knew I wasn’t happy and offered to sand it all down again (5 rooms) and try a different color. That was money and time out of his pocket so we are truly thankful for that. The stain not being correct had nothing to do with his work and he made good on his word! Making us happy and we definitely are! They sanded down our kitchen which had bevels and cracks to a smooth solid flowing floor❤️. We had a couple dark spots due to the wood grain and the dark stain we choose and they tried everything to blend them in and they did. The guys were very respectful and clean. Yes we had dust but what a great way to start spring cleaning 😁. No they did not leave stain or soda on my walls. They vacuumed and wiped up before they left every evening! At the end of the day my floors are BEAUTIFUL and just what I wanted! Thank you James you guys did a amazing job! You have a great crew!! Wish I could post pictures!

Very professional. James was very prompt in getting me an estimate for sanding and refinishing and also for replacing carpet with hardwood in family room. We ended up just doing the sanding and refinishing of 2 rooms, Hall and bath. Everything was done in a timely manner when scheduled. His employees were professional, prompt and efficient. All they left behind were beautiful floors. Our hardwood floors are gorgeous. Thanks, again James. I'm sure we will use 804 floors in the future.

I wanted to love this company; I even went with them even though they were more expensive than the other quotes I got because I had confidence in their business. However, while I imagine the owner is very good at his work, he doesn't actually do the work anymore and the quality control isn't there. They poly-ed dust and debris to the floor and left large visible puddles of poly (top coat) in all the corners. Unfortunately, they had to come back multiple times to redo my floor.... The corners felt like sandpaper there was so much stuff stuck to them. They came back twice over an extended amount of time to re-do things and eventually i just gave up. The areas that were touched up are visible, the finish hasn't worn well (6 months old), I still have puddles and unfinished areas where they tried to fix things and forgot to put down the top poly coat again, and all the corners have a bumpy avocado peel texture. They also spilled soda? on my newly painted walls and got the poly finish all over my baseboards and up onto my walls (I have 8 in baseboards)! Which created more work for me to fix. I eventually just paid them and moved on because I couldn't hold up my renovation any longer to try and fix the problem. While the color turned out great, everything else about the job was a supreme disappointment. I wish I had just gone with someone else.

Completely jacked up my parents floors especially on the first floor steps. Warning! Don’t hire this person to do your floors especially on steps they will not only take a week longer and charge your card more then required, there reimbursement check will bounce. Making this process even longer ... we had to eat Thanksgiving in the basement because 804 flooring LLC jacked it up.
