Waited a total of over 1.5 hrs today to be waited on by a sales clerk in the appliance dept. 1.5 hrs. covered two visits. The first about 2pm and the second about 4pm. You would think on a weekend that a store would properly staffed. We had to make our own decision on a washer and dryer. A sales clerk finally offered help, which amounted to ringing up the order........If we had been a little desperate to make a purchase, we would have gone elsewhere on another day.

I've had great customer service each time I've came here. Each time I purchased smaller items needed infrequently, but I've been here probably almost a dozen times. Each time a representative has helped me efficiently and professionally. Doesn't hurt that they do military discount either!

It's your average big box store. They have a wider selection than Home Depot on some things like fasteners, but the employees are what really make this average. They are not interested at all in helping customers, unless you happen to run across the rare employee. In most cases, you have to search to find someone and when you do, they don't address you; once you get their attention, it always appears like you are a burden to them. Contractors get very different treatment. I do think the prices are better than other places and overall the quality is good depending on what you buy.

I stopped in last Friday looking for a shower, that I was told somewhere else wasn't available anywhere in Northern Virginia. The special order directly from the manufacturer I had been told I needed to make would take at least a week to be shipped, delaying my renovation project, and would require paying shipping expenses. Then I talked to Kenny in the plumbing department, who used his handheld inventory tracker and identified another Lowe's store where the shower was in stock, in Stafford. Since I was going in that direction, I went to Stafford and there it was. Kenny --- Great Job and Thanks! for your time and willingness to go the extra mile. It saved me time, and money.

Lowes is fast becoming the Walmart of home improvement - no one wants to help you Went in with two items to purchase. I looked for a garden hose and the person working that section didn't bother to ask me if I needed help even though I walked by him twice. Even worse, he was picking his ears with a piece of wire. Finally found the hose on my own. Next I needed a lamp shade - absolutely no help there. The older lady who wrung up my sale was very friendly. Never thought I would say this but I'll probably just go to Home Depot. Still won't get any help but the prices are cheaper. I'll point out this is not the first time I've gone to Lowes and was ignored by employees.
