Lots of options and great options. Always go intending to pick up a couple things from a list, end up walking out with twice the amount of stuff them what one needs. Innovative products in every department to make every job easier now fun. Store has a nice and accommodating layout. Over the years the staff has greatly improved on product knowledge as well as where to locate products. If you have questions or need a demonstration, most employees are more than happy to show how and what to do. They provide tips about how to optimize efficiency from their personal experience or just from knowing about the items and/or the task the item will be used for. It seems the employees have also come to be more courteous and polite. Makes the trip smoother and much more enjoyable.

Let me tell you about my recent trip to the Menards on Clairemont. (I apologize it’s long). I was looking for lumber to build my own plant boxes. Checking out all the different lumber trying to see what would be the best at the best value. (Mind you, I don’t really know about wood but I try). All these guys watched me carry a ton of lumber up and down stairs because I was having a rough time choosing and I was actually putting it back where I found it when i found something different and I went back up for more several times once I found what I wanted to use, they watched me struggle to decide what soil is best for what I was doing and then load a bunch of heavy ass bags of soil, watched me loading a bunch of plants and gaze around outside making several loops trying to find more vegetables and fruits in the rain, I wandered around obviously looking for a few different things. To top it all off, as I was loading everything into the truck in the pouring rain (yes, by myself) two younger male employees sat and watched me. One even made the comment that I “am awfully small to be lifting such heavy things”. (I am 5’2 and 120lbs which is irrelevant but goes along with my point) The entire time I was there did I get asked once if I needed help finding anything? Nope! Did anyone ask me if I needed help lifting anything? Nope! Everyone literally looked at me and looked away. When I say everyone I mean EVERY single employee that I saw at Menards! Not a single one said a single word to me! Not even “hello”. I also watched as one lady was extremely rude to another customer inquiring about a price. He was OBVIOUSLY inconveniencing her by asking for her assistance. And to think I was looking forward to this Menards trip all week! I was smiling and excited walking in there and I was extremely upset/disappointed walking out. I was also completely soaked after loading everything into the truck myself in the pouring rain while the two male employees outside watched me. I bought 12 large pieces of lumber. The shortest being 6ft. 4 Super big bags of potting soil. At least 20 different plants and a few other things. Did I spend $1,000? No. But i work hard for my money and I used to love going to Menards. I guess DIY isn’t just for projects, and customer service is only a counter at the Clairemont Menards. At this point, I could care less to ever go in there again! Lastly, as a store manager at a busy business here in Eau Claire, if my team EVER made someone feel the way I felt at Menards today there would be immediate changes made in the way things were done. Photo is me after I loaded everything into my truck while they watched.

They always have what I need. It is usually on sale or there is a rebate for it. Prices for items are always clearly marked. The staff there is very friendly and helpful.

Employees are always friendly and more than willing to help you find something. The store itself has the best selection of hand and power tools and accessories that you could ask for. Love Menards tool brand "Masterforce." Very durable and they make pretty much any tool you need, and at a reasonable price! Overall a great store.

Normally I have a great experience at Menards...today was a bad day for them...and me. I know there are staffing issues but I guess I'd prefer a good attitude over product knowledge. I'll give them another chance and just chaulk it up as a off day for them.
