Imperial Wood Floors sanded off and refinished the original wood floors in our house. Jeff and his crew at Imperial Wood Floors were great to work with. Jeff was able to fit us into the schedule right away and was very responsive and kept me informed through the whole process. Our new refinished floor turned out great, much better than we expected and so much nicer than the original floor. I was very surprised by how little dust was left behind and how close they were able to refinish the floor next to the existing trim and adjacent floors. They did an amazing job and I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks!

We were extremely impressed with Jeff Shunk though the project did not go quite as planned. We discussed our options with Jeff and we opted to do a buff and coat rather than a re-sanding despite the risk that the polyurethane might not stick or might orange peel. Jeff came out (an hour away) the day after we called, and he carefully tested a few sections of the floor with Bona Mega and found that the poly appeared to stick well and looked great. He buffed the floors (sending us nice photos along the way) and everything looked great -- good dust and all the usual signs. Then, we get a somewhat upset phone call from Jeff because while he went out to the truck to get more of the Bona Traffic (catalyzed water based poly unlike the Bona Mega), the entire floor had turned purple. He was upset. We were very upset. It was a mess. Jeff stopped the job and went home with little hope that this would end well. We'd likely have to sand it off and go from there. Both Jeff and I called various reps and tech support people. We got mixed messages telling us alternately that this is a disaster or that it MIGHT turn out ok. Apparently, this product turns purple as it drys, but we must have had some catalyst or chemical that accelerated the reaction --likely from a cleaner or old finish. We scheduled a sanding appt with Jeff, and Jeff (still upset) cancelled his job/estimates for the next day and came out to survey the damage. To his amazement, the floor looked great. The purple had gone away. He drove home (an hour), got his work truck, came back (another hour) and finished the job. He charged us only what he promised at the beginning of the process. In summary, we got a great new finish on the floors and everything looks perfect. Jeff was extremely professional and honest with us at every step. Whatever happened on our job is almost unheard of per the manufacturer, and it could have gone either way. Jeff handled the entire mess very well, and he was patient with us when we were upset. More importantly, the finish came out great -- this is probably part luck and part due to good surface preparation by Jeff. We will use him again.

Very good work ! They installed a new floor in my living room and refinished an existing floor in the dining room and both match color and finish wise. Very happy with the results. Whole thing took 3 days including sealing and finish. I like the finish product they use much better than plain polyurethane - high traffic, low odor, and faster to use. Also did very well with all the doorways and transitions between oak floors, carpet and tile floors. Wish my budget $$ would have let me hire them to do the whole house!

When we bought our house, the first thing we did was rip out the carpet to find beautiful wood floors underneath old carpet in our living room. We decided to have them sanded and refinished to match the wood floors in the bedrooms, which also needed to be resealed. Jeff was able to fit us in his schedule in just a few weeks. His estimate was more than reasonable compared to other companies in the area and he was very easy to work with. Jeff answered all of our questions before the job started and was easy to communicate with. Jeff and his guys showed up on time both days and got the job done in a timely manner. We were so impressed with how quickly they were able to do the job and that there was NO dust in the house! Once the floors were dry all we had to do was finish moving in. He even gave us cleaning product recommendations that continue to keep our floor looking great! We will definitely call Imperial when we need our floors buffed and coated in the future! We couldn't be happier with how our floors turned out. GREAT JOB!

We called Imperial Wood Floors along with two other flooring companies to get a walk through and estimates for several things, including: sanding and refinishing ~ 1200 sq ft of flooring, removing carpet from a room and refinishing the floor, sanding and staining a stair case, repairing some poor patch jobs and eliminating squeaking in several places. Of the three companies I called, Imperial Wood Floors is the only one that responded. Another asked if I was still interested in them coming out on the day they were supposed to be there after not responding to my emails for 4 days. I said no, don't bother. Jeff was on time and immediately started explaining the differences in our flooring and the condition it was in. He talked about pricing for repairing some bad patch jobs and what he considered worth it or not. He gave us a run down of the types of wood we had, the condition of the wood in each room and what he could do, couldn't do and what might not be worth worrying about. He said they could try to eliminate squeaking, but it would likely take an entire floor replacement to accomplish it and if we didn't want to spend the money to do that, it wasn't worth our money to "chase" squeaks around. He knew coming in this was a walk through and estimate and that we were only in the planning stage, but he stayed for almost two hours to talk to us and explain our options. He provided a very detailed, broken down estimate later that night that was about right where I expected the cost to be. Some of the work was actually cheaper than I anticipated though. Based just on the fact that Jeff showed up and spent the time talking to us and letting use know what our options were, I would highly recommend him and his company. We will definitely be contacting them in the near future once we get our flooring project in motion.
