The Home Depot

If I could I would give my user experience for this Home Depot location negative stars, I would. As spring comes around my sister and I were planning on doing something nice for our mother and completely redoing her room. Paneling, ceiling, paint, doors, tiles. A real DYI for two generations of women to do. Now, we did get some help from my sister's boyfriend but only minimal in picking the supplies we would need. We started today at Home Depot. Spending over 400 ($415.23) on supplies. Paint, brushes, plaster, etc. Just a starter pack and we were planning on coming back for more supplies. In total we were planning on spending a little over 3k on our mother's room just in repairs. BUT we will never be coming back to this Home Depot location again. We had the worst experience. After being rung up and spending over $400 we were stopped at the door (as usual) to get our receipt checked (highlighted?). the individual at the door decided that she would go over each item on the list. Which I don't remember EVER happening during past trips. There were 28 ITEMS on our receipt. She goes over EACH ONE. She starts pulling items OUT, telling my mother and sister that she can't find these items. Even though we were just rung up moments ago. THREE security guards surround us. She it taking out item after item, having us stand there for well over 20 minutes while people gawk and stare. I'm not sure if anyone else has a parent over the age of SIXTY but they really do not enjoy standing while security harasses them for 20 minutes and strangers are staring. In the end she found that a paint pan and paint stick had not been rung up properly. Totaling in or around 12 dollars. Now I am not sure what her reasoning was for this. If it was because we are minorities or if its because my sister's boyfriend is not the same race as us or if she was just having a bad day BUT in the end it was HOME DEPOTS who handled this ENTIRE situation very poorly. There was NO reason why they should have let customers who had paid out over 400 dollars stand there for TWENTY MINUTES over something so silly. And in the end the only effect this will have is HOME DEPOT losing out on the thousands of dollars we were planning on spending there on dry wall, panelling, tile, paint, decorations, etc. I would not recommend anyone going to the HOME DEPOT on 4555 S Western. Horrible customer experience.

Here at 47th St. Service is good, but even better if you go to Bill Clinton st.

Just today I recently visit this location to get some drywall and few electrical & plumbing items, upon my shopping in the store I began too feel as if I was being watched. Turns out not only that I also was being followed as I was looking for the plumbing item I encountered an associate ask him where could I find the I was looking for "he told me its in aisle 16 with the thingy and stuff" After all that we got too the check out near the exit the young lady purposely didn't ring up all the drywall when it was clear that it was more than two sheets on the cart...my point Too all these is this: Racial profiling an discrimination is a very serious issue especially when it come to a business or work place. Each time I visit that location It made me feel uncomfortable. Its not right for someone too be treated in such a manor. A phone call to the corporate office might the only solution.

This review is for Xavier in plumbing. My mom and I were looking to replace our sump pump and he helped us compare the different pumps available. He approached us after helping another customer. He was very knowledgeable and patient with us. We kept calling my grandfather to get measurements of the old pump. We even came back within an hour to ask more questions about an adaptor to connect the pipe and pump, and again received professional and friendly service. The pump has now been replaced. Thanks Xavier!

Terrible customer service and seems to be very unorganized. Called to check the status on an online order for pickup from the store. Got transferred 7-8 times, hanged up once before I was able to talk to someone who could find the info.
