The Home Depot

Rented a large piece of equipment from them this past weekend. Upon renting the equipment we were told to call a number if we had any problems. Not even 4 hours into picking it up and getting home, the hydraulic system started dying on us. I immediately called the home Depot and explained the situation and how upset we were that now we can't even finish what we rented this for. The nice man on the phone said not a problem and that he will compensate us for going through the annoyance of it dying. We had a load of yard waste stuck on the equipment and called Home Depot back because we were told to bring it back empty and clean.. clearly that wasn't possible. Home Depot instructed us to call the outside company that deals with equipment issues. No one called us back until the day after. We are confused as to what to do because your supposed to return it on 24 hours and that time was about to come and go. We called Home Depot back, they again instructed us to call the outside company. Hours later they called and said they have to talk to Home Depot. Again, no one called to follow up with us until Monday, at which point they said someone will come out Tuesday to look at it but in the meantime, connect it to a charger. Why was NONE of this said to us Saturday???????????? Long story short, Tuesday, the outside company shows up and says it works and instead of helping us, just left the equipment there instead of hitching it up and taking it back (which is a service they offer). Home Depot calls and demands we bring it back by Tuesday night, claiming we told a different story than the outside company. Home Depot did nothing to help us at all!!!!! We didn't want this broken equipment sitting outside out house anymore than they wanted it back. It's ridiculous. The customer service is beyond disappointing and it's safe to say I will be a Lowe's customer from now on. They won't refund us a dime, so I'm happy we wasted almost $200 for a large piece of rentable equipment that died on us 4 hours into our 24 hour rental period with a series of cat and mouse phone calls to get us nowhere. They just kept handing the buck over to the outside company to deal with, which they than made us call back Home Depot! It's a shame, because we were about to place a huge order for our fencing in our backyard from Home Depot and it's not happening now! Very disappointed customer here.

Very helpful; found what I needed but they were almost through transaction before I noticed the Veteran discount - would not give the discount.

Mike, in lumber, was so helpful, courteous and an expert at his job. Not knowing what to expect, Mike took over and helped me with everything and made the task of picking out paneling and even cutting it to perfection, look so easy. I will be a customer for life! Thanks Mike.
