I feel like we were taken advantage of. It takes them very long to get to your vehicle approximately a week for mine, and if you sign the authorization for them to give you a quote on the problem, JUST KNOW that you are singing a document they use against you so they can bill you for whatever they see fit. Just to give you an example they charged me $1600 to tell me I need a new engine! That is 1600 dollars with my car all taken apart, If I let them put it back together, I would have had to pay who knows how many more hours of labour. If you look them up on the Manitoba Court Registry you will see they have been to court more than 10 times. Their website says they are BBB credited, When I called the BBB there is nothing on them, which means they are not credited. Learn from my mistake and the other reviews and do your homework on where you take your car, what you are signing etc. etc. Very unhappy with this business and I am ready to spread the word so more people like me do not get taken advantage of. I had them stop all work on my car, box up my parts and had it towed out of there. I wasn't paying them one more cent to screw me over, I had another mechanic put a new used engine in for $2000 ALL IN, they wanted $4900 at this Machine Shop, and that was their guesstimate, because they didn't know if the engine they ordered in used was going to need any work. They do not give you any answers, can not give approximates. I would think, a business that specializes in this would have some kind of ideas as to time frame/cost ....but nope. BEWARE!!!!! They seem to have become very good at preparing rebuttals and learning how to talk their way in and out of situations. Like a broken record, well you signed giving us authorization, well you signed, giving us authorization... I guess when you are constantly being negatively reviewed and taken to court you get very good at arguing with people. I didn't want them to look at my car for free, I understand we said yes to going underneath, but they could have said so we are sitting at 4 hours of labour if we go ahead it could be another 7 just to diagnose the problem.....they didn't do that, they would never give my husband a number until they called me telling me we are owing for 11 hours of labour and my engine is garbage.

Just a reply to my wife's post, as there seem to be some discrepancies in their reply to her post. First, we went there because we were recommended by D & S in Transcona, who are great guys. In their reply to my wife's review, they mentioned I went there because I didn't want to pay what the dealer wanted? Nothing of dealers was ever talked about when I went there. I went there because I was recommended by another garage, and when I went there, I told him I did not want to spend thousands of dollars on repairs, as the vehicle wasn't worth it. I was advised of their course of action; listening to it, top end inspection, then they would call for further authorization for removal of the engine, which they did. I asked for an estimate, and I was advised it was too hard to tell and they could not provide one, and was asked to sign giving authorization without an estimate, MY MISTAKE. Very little work was put in prior to the engine removal, per their receipt. I was called and I authorized further inspection. We were called a day later and were told the engine was toast and would need to be replaced. They provided an option of a new one for $6000 or they could get a used wrecker engine with low km for $4900, contrary to their comments in my wife's review of "the work already being done". We advised them to STOP and asked what the cost was to that point and were advised $1,600 (after taxes). They lowered their price by about $20, cutting the shop supplies from 4% to 2%. I talked to him later that day and I asked him why in the world would I want to spend that kind of money on a repair of the vehicle when it was only worth $5000, and his reply was "how am I supposed to know that, I'm not in car sales". I asked for a breakdown of the cost, and he said he would provide it. I then asked him why he would do so much work on a vehicle when the customer told him that he was worried about cost and was simply told "I authorized it". I signed a blank piece of paper and was never provided any sort of estimate, again, that was my mistake and where I went wrong. And then you say I got a wrecker engine and a backyard mechanic to put it in? Did you make that up? I never told you that. I said I was getting a used engine (got it for $700) which was from the same place you quoted me a used engine from, and I got it installed from a certified dealer mechanic for $500. You say you did all of the work, then why did you want to charge me so much more to keep going? So bottom line, after I signed a blank piece of paper and authorized work (BIG mistake), 11 hours later at $115/hr plus extras and $1600 poorer...... I was given an estimate to repair my car. I don't find that's reasonable, but agree to disagree I guess. And nice one with the threat of civil litigation/defamation lawsuit. Not sure where any false information has been posted in order for you to do that, but feel free. The only false information I have seen is in your reply. You don't have to like what we are saying. And go ahead and post more stuff to make yourself look good. I'm done with this. (ps, I gave you a neutral rating)
