After my dismal experience I went to Walmart. They'll help you right away with a smile. I went for an oil change here and they said they'd call me in an hour when it was done. I sat at a coffee shop up the street for an hour. They never called me back. I went back after the hour to be told that they couldn't do the oil change because they couldn't open my hood. They should have called me at this point. The plastic handle to open my hood is broken off, but the cable it attached to is still intact and you can simply pull on it to open the hood. Its pretty obvious. Other shops have done it in the past without being asked. I explained this to the employee at the front desk, who seemed like the manager, and his tone became curt and argumentative, telling me it wasn't worth his time. It seems he was more then happy to waste mine.

1.0 star rating 11/27/2017 I used Midas for their Tire hotel and tire change services. They cancelled my first appointment because they didn't get my tires in time. When I showed up to my rescheduled appointment, they told me that they still didn't have them so I waited for 2 hours nearby to hear if they arrived. Once they arrived, they REFUSED to put my winters on "because two of them are so worn down they're unsafe" and they gave me a quote for $650 to replace the two. They held me hostage and gave me no other options. My tires are not even halfway through their life cycle and I knew they were taking advantage of me, being a young woman and a stereotypically 'uneducated car owner'. So I told them to hand over my tires and I left. The next week I got my winters put on at the dealership and they told me my tires are safe and do not need replacing yet. They also ripped off my roommate and charged her $100 for a tire change when they quoted her $60 "because it costs us more to put on tires that weren't purchased here". When she questioned their reasoning all they could say were things like "that's just how it works". She even asked for a detailed invoice outlining the extra charges and they simply said "oh we don't do those". Snakes.

I've been going to Midas since I lived in Toronto Midas like a family I know everybody they do a phenomenal job on my car I have two thousand and eight so it's not a new one they go bad after it it's in really good condition they know what they're doing and what I like is they do not tell you you have to have it done they show you and ask you what you want done first and the people who work there awesome that includes the mechanics

I probably had the worst experience in my life at Midas Halifax. I took both of my vehicles there, and was told that both of my vehicles needed new rotors and brake pads. So I took their recommendations and had them replace/repaired the rotors and pads. Six months later, I had all eight rotors and brake pads replaced by another repair shop. The quality of the parts were horrible. Then I had my winter tires stored there for the winter, unfortunately when I picked up the tires that spring, there was a screw in one of the tires. Of course, they denied responsibility and was they treated me horribly. The Midas experience was an expensive lesson learned. The only thing I would’ve liked was an simple apology from the owners. Thanks for the life lesson.

These guys are great. I've been taking my vehicles there for more than 15 years, and I always get the straight-up story (whether I want to hear it or not). Superb customer service. Clearly they value repeat business.
