My wife Connie drives for Steven's Transport and we had the unfortunate pleasure of having to have this shop work on her truck. We had a coolant leak and they supposedly replaced the coolant lines leading to the heater core in the cab in the sleeper. We didn't make it 50 miles down the road before we realized we were still leaking fluid. So we stopped at another shop and they determined that Southwest Deisel had not replaced the lines as they said only cut the lines which are metal and put 2 pieces of rubber hose in them with basic hose clamps and that our actual leak was in the heater core itself which is why we have antifreeze all over the inside of the lower cabinet in the sleeper behind the drivers seat. So basically after Stevens spent almost $3,000.000 we still have the same issue and can't run the truck but a few hours at a time before we have to stop and add coolant so we don't burn up the engine. Can't shut off the water valves to heater core and just use apu unit because there is no way to keep coolant from reaching the bad heater core. The mechanic who's name is Rex said that he didn't work for Freightliner anymore because they do shoddy work, well I can attest that he is the reason he's not at Freightliner as he does shoddy work. Once we reached the other shop my wife called Southwest Diesel and spoke with Rex the mechanic and told him we were still losing fluid and his response to her was oh I guess you still have a leak. And just to be clear the leak is worse now after the repairs they supposedly made. We are now in Pennsylvania enroute to New Jersey and we can't let the truck idle or run the auxiliary heating unit because the coolant leaks out so badly we are afraid we will burn up the engines. We spend 5 days in a hotel in St. George Utah over this and now we are looking at another few days once we get this load delivered depending upon parts availability when we get to the next shop. I have enclosed 2 pictures of the ground beneath the area where the leak is to show how bad it is and this is after just sitting for an hour.
