I took my 1960 MG MGA to Active Engines after meeting with Mike. You won't find a more passionate engine guy anywhere. Mike took the time to tour me around his facility, explaining the sophisticated equipment that his shop has to do the job right. It was also clear that he has experience with a great variety of engines, from every period and of every level of sophistication. His communication was good throughout the process, and I can honestly say that the engine runs better than when it was new. The car runs cleanly through to redline, something they didn't do back in the day! There is a reason Active Engines has been in business for so long, and I hope they remain so for all of my future engine needs.

I brought in my 340 motor to get rebuilt and what an amazing experience it was. The staff is great...very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. It was so refreshing to see how proud and enthusiastic they were about their work. A huge thanks goes out to Mike and his staff for answering all my questions and taking the time to show me around. I'm excited and looking forward to working with you...such a relief to know that my motor is in great hands! Steve

I took my 2007 Avalanche to Mike because of a noise in the engine, he took the engine out and rebuild it, I asked if he found any major damage he said no, anyway $5000 later I find out they rebuilt the engine and reused the old spark plugs and air filter. 40000km later I complained of a lifter knock, Mike said it was normal, me being a mechanic I told him the knock I was hearing was not normal the knock turned into a miss I removed the valve cover and found one of the active lilters on cylinder one was not working so I took the truck back to active engines, Mike told me that it was a oil solenoid problem and not a lifter problem, I had to explain to him that only cylinders 1,4,6,7 have active lifter on both valves and if it was the solenoid that both filters would not work as they both share the same oil ports, Mike finally agreed to change the lifter, Mike called the next day and said the lifter was changed and the problem was still the same and that he inspected the camshaft and it was ok, The camshaft was not ok the first lode was worn and it caused the lifter to rotate 180 deg making the lifter unlock because oil hole for unlocked the lifter is now in line with the oil feed gallery. Now its my dollar to fix it because Mike is a lier
