This review is coming from a previous employee for Propulsion Controls Engineering. I worked at this company for a year and a half holding the Sales Representative position. The experience of working at this company was great! They carry a strong "family owned" culture, where you genuinely feel welcomed and part of a team. My role consisted of working in the Commercial Division, which is one of many entities of the company. Working for this division under the Commercial Division Manager: Kyle Clapp, whom is a young, educated, ambitious manager, proved to be a beneficial learning experience and has significantly added to my sales skills and experience. If you're considering a position with PCE go for it! There is not many companies out there like this one.

I am a recreational boater transiting through San Diego on my way to New Zealand. I had a problem with the generator on the boat and was looking for assistance in getting it repaired. When I parked in front of PCE I could see that it was a large commercial operation not really suited for the recreational sailor. Nevertheless, I saw an employee walking down the sidewalk and asked if PCE ever worked on small jobs. He personally led me to Kyle, the manager of the Commercial Division, who graciously greeted me and asked how he could help. He took me to Wayne in the shop who listened to me explain the symptoms of my problem with the generator and gave me the advice that I needed to find the problem myself. I did. Thank you PCE. As a side note, I have worked as a business executive and I know a well managed company when I see one. I was very impressed.

Just brought my boat around from Miami to Newport Beach and needed to have the injectors looked at on my Yanmar 4JH3-TE diesel. I was having difficulty finding any local facilities to even schedule a time to take a look at the engine - much less actually do any work, and then came across PCE in San Diego. I cannot give Mark Olson (Service Advisor) and Leo Rocha (mechanic) enough praise for their responsiveness, communication, punctuality, professionalism and reasonable pricing for the work they performed, even with the travel to and from Newport Beach. Leo was out the day after I first spoke to Mark, and he arrived when he said he would! He kept me apprised of what he found and showed me the parts and provided pictures with his explanation. An estimate to complete the job was provided prior to moving forward, and upon receiving the parts the job was completed as promised, and within the cost estimate provided. I will happily use PCE again (if needed!) and recommend them to anyone.
