Worst service ever! My Suburban broke down on my way to Nevada City. As they were the mechanic across the street from the towing company I decided that it would be easier to leave the car there. After checking up the transmission which I already knew was broken in two pieces, they told the cost of the repair: 1,050$ for the parts and 400$ for the labor, plus tax. She told me that this part could be delivered the next day and that I had to be quick on making a decision because the car need to be out of the way within the next 48 hours, to put pressure on me and accept the deal... The same day I still decided to call a few mechanics to check up on the price as I found it very spicy to say the less. Chevy Auburn which was clearly not the cheapest said 950$ out the door for a brand new transmission! My car is from 2002 and doesn't worth a lot, so I asked if they could find a remanufactured part still. Still the same day, they did found a part within the hour for 650$ when I found one at 250$ myself. When I told her she said that they couldn't wait for the part because the vehicle needed to be out of the way the next day. And when I explained that the part I found could be delivered the next day, then it was no longer a problem of time, but against the policy of the house... Then she threaten to call the police on an abandoned vehicle if I didn't accept the deal and leave the car one more day. 4 calls on the phone, I never had a bad word, I never have been impolite to her. Well for me this is what I call a place where you should never get your car in. Go everywhere but not here.

I was very pleased when I had Foothill Car Care do a routine service on my Rav 4. They were able to get my car in the next day and they were finished in about an hour! Thrilled!

This is my favorite mechanic. My dad started going here when Rob started his own business and our family have been loyal customers since. The mechanics are very knowledgeable and capable, office staff are friendly, and what's more, they have integrity very hard to find in a mechanic these days. A few years back I took a car in for the timing belt, water pump, etc. service. About a year later, the car was back for a routine service and they noticed a leak around a gasket they had replaced as part of that service. True to their 18 month warranty, when the car was picked up, they had redone the previous year's repair for free! I hadn't noticed the leak and likely wouldn't have until their was a major problem but they had the integrity to correct this leak on their own. For this and my many other good experiences here, I won't take my vehicles anywhere else. From oil changes to major service, I turst Foothill Car Care to look after all my vehicles. Thanks for the great service.

Quoted me one price over the phone for a clutch replacement. Raised the price 20% when I came in person on my appointment date. They did call me back in and give me the original quote when I walked out. But then there were additional problems that brought the price back up to just shy of the original quote. Maybe that is not their fault; but they also left my stereo locked so I am currently going through a big process with Honda trying to unlock it. It is a confusing situation. While I don't blame them for all the miscommunications some of the problems are on their end. I am left with a (so far) hour + long project getting my stereo unlocked and a bad taste in my mouth. I will not return.
