Brought my '06 6.0 in with a running rough at part throttle condition. Jason diagnosed it and quoted a fair price for the work. Picked up the truck today. Runs better than when I first bought it! I will definitely use and recommend Xtreme diesel.

Best diesel shop in town. Jason can fix pretty much anything.

So I brought them my 2nd gen dodge for a valve adjustment and injectors, and a fuel leak at the drain for my fuel filter. I also had some questions on error codes that had been on my truck for a while and what could cause them. They checked codes and operation of the items I had concern on, as well as fixed the original items for a fair price. What more could you ask for? They could have piled on charges for diagnostic and every little item, like most shops, but didn't. Truck runs like a champ now. I'm one of those that generally doesn't let anyone work on my vehicles as I've had only bad experiences and poor workmanship here in chico. These guys got it done, and workmanship is what you'd expect from a good diesel shop.

Great business

Really, I give this shop ZERO STARS!!! That just wasn't an option. We took our truck to Xtreme Diesel in Chico, CA because coolant was coming from the radiator cap. They took the truck apart and said it had blown head gasket and that we needed new heads and head studs. He said he hated working on 6.0's and that he would not purchase the parts to fix it. He wanted me to buy the parts and when I asked what to buy refused to recommend anything. We had no choice but to buy the parts as the truck was taken apart and could not leave the shop. The truck stayed at the shop while I researched and ordered the parts. When we received the parts, we took them to him. After fixing the truck, my son drove it home from Chico (45 miles) and immediately coolant was coming from the cap again. We took it back to Extreme Diesel and he said it was a problem with the coolant chamber and the cap, so he did buy those parts and put them in and charged us several hundred dollars for that. My son drove the truck home and coolant was coming still coming from the cap. We called Extreme Diesel and he said it would be a couple of weeks before he could get it in. I decided to take it somewhere else, as he had failed twice to fix the problem. We took it to another shop in Redding, CA. This shop informed me that the heads were never sealed as he could see the gaps on the gaskets. He said the area was extremely dirty as well. Xtreme Diesel is trying to say that it was a problem with the parts I bought, not the labor that was done. They say there is no warranty because I purchased the parts. I had no choice but to purchase the parts because they refused to. In an email, he said that I declined to buy new heads from the factory because of the cost. This was a lie. I am financially well off, and I would have purchased whatever they had asked me to fix the truck. He wanted me to purchase the parts, so he didn't have to warranty his work. The shop in Redding used the same heads, studs, ect. and repaired the truck. The problem was the labor performed by Xtreme Diesel, not the parts. I have asked for a refund for the labor performed and they refuse blaming the parts. This is fraud. What mechanic requires their customers to buy the parts? The answer is a mechanic who doesn't want to warranty their work! If he didn't like working on 6.0's, then he should have refused to take the truck in the first place.
