It is sad, but when you run a business OTR ... there are more bad experiences than good with mechanic shops. This is another one. The manager always helpful over the phone. Problem: we found out we had 1-2 bad injectors. The manager knew that and told us the low oil pressure could mean a bad oil pump. (oil was mixed up already with a lot of diesel, and the mechanic told him that... of which the manager didn't mention to Me at all). So they proceeded with the repair so we could bring it to our base in Orlando, FL and finish the repair. He took out the oil pan, tested the oil pump and said it failed. Changed a whole bunch of things down there and charged around $4800.00. They worked fast. When I flew back my drivers... he (manager) was not there... so they talked to the mechanic in charge of the repair and he was very clear " I told the manager that the injectors were bad and were pouring diesel into the oil pan & system ... the why he didn't fix that I don't know... he told me to have the other things done so they could take it back to FL". Compression (oil pump) it is obviously different if it moves oil, or a lighter substance (diesel). Same price, fixing the injectors (may be less, only 2 of them bad) would've fix the problem. He chose not to fix the problem, but to choose for the most expensive job for his shop. Dissapointing, I thought he was a decent person. So the shop.
