The only Mobile Mechanic company that called us back

We have a few trucks moving between Sarasota and Arcadia and my dad broke down in one of our trucks. We called many Mechanics leaving voicemail and nobody responded. We reached out to Joe and Mik after they were recommended by several parts stores as being incredibly talented and resourceful to fix almost anything. Joe promptly sent a starting estimate to us and after we issued our card information to him shortly after he arrived. They were able to diagnose and fix our fuel issue and get us back on the road. We were expecting the cost to be higher than a repair center but they were fair. It would have cost three times more and our time to have towed the truck and then take to a garage so we are so glad they were what we were told. We highly recommend to any commercial company to reach out to them. We will not hesitate in the future to use them and like I said they were the only people who called us back. Thank you Joe & Mik

He will harass you if you talk to him and hang up

This dude is a loser. There's a reason he's not on google maps because he would even be a 1 star. But he can't control if people are willing to write a review on yelp. Listen to the reviews here......this guy is very shady and wants to get a lot of money from you upfront and probably a lot more beyond what he should if you give him your vehicle. I realized that he was a scammer right away when I talked to him so I hung up. So he called back over and over and over harassing me until I finally text him and said stop or I will call the police. Call and try to talk to him and then hang up on him yourself and see. He's a loser. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Quick and reliable service. Very friendly staff. They even had my personal favorite: Snickers. You won't regret paying them a visit.

We drive a 43" Diesel pusher motorhome and found ourselves broke down along side I-75 about 4 miles North of Metcalf's. The problem was an injector line leak and fuel was spraying out of the top of the engine. After calling about 5 places in the area to see about getting service, Joe was the one who I decided to give my business. He was very professional and super helpful and went out of his way to make our issue as easy as possible to deal with - even staying late on a Friday night (the day this happened) to tear down the top of the engine to confirm the issue so that the part could be ordered and in-hand first of the week. I would highly recommend!

A Family business that is looking out for their customers! Joe & Lynn are just honest, humble, nice and they listen! My wife and I were looking to purchase a Diesel truck to pull our two horse trailer. We did a lot of research and “thought” we knew what we were getting into. Any truck we came across would have to be checked out by certified diesel mechanics. We found Metcalf Mobile Mechanics in Sarasota. . Long story short we found a Ford 2008 F350 6.4l diesel (130k miles) and brought it to Metcalf. About 1.5 hours later, we returned only to find out that 3 cylinders were starting to show signs of the valves not closing, one of which would have caused a misfire in the not so distant future. The cost to repair this? $1,000’s of dollars. Joe was extremely patient with us and explained the benefits of a Diesel and also what we can expect in in repair costs in “ANY” Used Diesel truck. Even in a brand new Diesel what we could expect. For our needs (towing only once or twice a month) Joe recommended a Ford Triton V10. Yes the gas mileage is not great, but for what we were going to use our truck for, it made sense to us and to save all the consistent repairs/costs of a diesel. As luck would have it, we found a 2006 F250 V10 w/only 67k miles on it and in immaculate condition, again at Sarasota Ford. We dropped it off at Metcalf the next morning and returned around noon. Again not so good news but not bad either, at least not like the diesels. Cylinder #2 was not firing properly. But Joe immediately diagnosed the problem as either a Coil or Plug or both. We did buy the truck and sure enough Joe had the problem with Cylinder 2 fixed quickly and exactly as he diagnosed it. If you are looking for an intelligent, honest mechanic that is also a certified diesel mechanic as well as other certifications, go to MetCalf! You will not regret it. They have all the Ford OEM Software/computer to work with your vehicle! We now have almost over 2,000 miles on our F250 V10 and not one single issue. We have towed to Gainsville and back twice and in some of the most hurricane like weather I have experienced – not one problem. We just want to say, “Thanks Joe and Lynn for all your time and in helping us purchase a dependable Truck for our horse!”.
