Came this past Saturday (11/4/17) afternoon for car safety inspection. Was waiting in the lounge, for what I thought would take an hour, max. But was there for almost 3 hours!!!
First hour had passed, finally customer rep came to tell me that they have to replace my brake lights, and was also told my battery wasn't the right size; I thought why would it be a concern? I had it for over a year and never had any issue with it. So another lady came to tell me I got the wrong size battery that's why my hood wasn't closing well. I said I just had it for just a year and what am I going to do with another battery. She then told me I won't pass my inspection unless I get it fix. I was confused but I needed to get my safety inspection done since mine already expired 4 days ago. So I gave in and said okay go ahead.
An hour had passed & getting angtsy, I asked how long more? I was told they just got the battery, i dont know from where they got it, it took forever. I was then informed that the 3 brake lights all burnt out after replacing them. Possible issue with brake switch so they suggested electrical diagnostic to confirm. However, since they don't have enough time I was told to come back Monday. I was issued the failed inspection, though. Now, because they issued me the failed inspection, I can only return to them to get my problems fixed. The diagnostic would mean another fee. I came back first thing Monday. Diagnosis was the stop light switch was bad so they have to install a new one. Great, another installation fee, which is 4x more than the cost of the installed lamp switch. Okay, I waited. An hour had passed, no one was really updating me of what's going on...installation of a lamp switch shouldn't take that long. Another hour had passed I finally asked the lady in the front why it's taking so long??? I still have to go to work!!! Only then she told me because they have to get the parts from sand island. Why can't these people be upfront with their customer that they don't have parts in-house and that it might take a while to get the car fixed or advise customer to may be come back in 3 hours. They don't even have coffee to offer to their waiting customers.
This entire horrible experience had cost me my time and money!!!
A. Total of 6 hours waiting, poor communication from the staff, and feeling of being ripped off.
B. The battery they replaced cost me $219 + $39 installation fee. Miscellaneous parts, labor and diagnostic fees total of over $300. My entire bill came out to $365.86 on Saturday and $207.41 on Monday. My initial safety inspection led me to amassed a whooping total cost of $573.27 not to mention the 6 hours of waiting!!!! By the way, total cost was after they took $20 off my total bill because I made it known to them I wasn't happy with the entire service
Please do not be fooled and go somewhere else. Read the reviews of people who had similar experience. Bottom line is, this business is ripping off people who they thought are vulnerable like women like me; don't get your safety inspection last minute that's when these crooks will get you, you will have no option but to give in, and lastly follow what your guts tell you. The moment I walked in, i already felt it these people can't be trusted...the lady in the front may sound friendly but fake.
