Brady at AAMCO on State Street is a throwback to another generation entirely. Values. Absolute integrity. He told me the first day I went there (recommended by my regular Jaguar shop) that he's there FOR ME, not the insurance company I was just at the beginning of trying to deal with. Two months later, a LOT of hassle from the insurance company, and a LOT of extra effort from Brady (I mean WAY beyond the call of duty)... and not only is my beautiful XK8 running fantastically with a completely rebuilt transmission, but I have actually been paid to a very satisfying amount from the insurance company of the guy who rear-ended me, which absolutely would NOT have happened without Brady really caring and completely going to bat for me in several different ways. When we finished all that, I brought my old very beat up van in also, because I thought it was ready to be sold as scrap... there were several VERY blatantly noisy and grindy issues (it was barely drivable)... but what-the-heck, why not let Brady and his crew take a look and see just how much it would cost to get the thing back to any kind of even minimally runnable condition. Burned out wheel bearing (someone had failed to grease it when it was installed). TWO other shops had told me I needed the whole front end rebuilt, and that my transmission was also in dire condition. No. Brady's HONEST examination turned up the burnt wheel bearing (which was making all the commotion I was hearing), and though I'd even told him what the other shops had said, where he could have sold me costly repairs to fix those things, he reported instead that my front end is actually in very good shape (not trying to sell me anything I don't actually need like the other guys were), and that my transmission seems to be in VERY good working order (again, NOT trying to sell me a costly overhaul that obviously I don't actually need either). Replaced the wheel bearings, a routine "service" on the transmission, and my van is back to where I will likely have several more years of dependable use from it. I am VERY surprised - like a small miracle, after the shape I thought it was in. I am not running into a lot of people (mechanics or anyone else) with this kind of integrity and completely-there-for-you sort of attitude these days. "Thank you, Brady" doesn't seem to even begin to do justice to how much pride he takes in what he does, or how extremely graciously and generous-spiritedly he treats his customers. I feel VERY fortunate that my Jaguar shop recommended me to him, and to the AAMCO there on State Street where one can find him (and the other good people who work there as well).

I needed a motor installed in my 88 Suzuki samurai. I had it at another shop where it sat for 8 months with no progress. I was told by the other shop that it was a mess and needed a bunch of extra parts and would be very costly. I then picked it up and took it to AAMCO instead where they had it running in 4 days. They were very knowledgeable, professional, and QUICK! They also stayed within budget. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.
