Wow, I wish they would have listened to you guys about crooked Larry. I'm not going to say a lot except if you want to spend money and have more headache after you're done than you started with, well that's the place to go, because that's what happened to me. Better off if I had never even gone there. I hate when I spend good money just do have more headaches than I started with. Talk about screwing things up. Now I have to go somewhere else to get fixed what they messed up and pay more money

I've used this shop for those hard to find parts since I was 16, every transaction I've had with Larry has turned out good. He currently rebuilt my nv4500 and wrapped a new case around the internals (due to a crack around the entire case which is why it went in for a rebuild in the first place) for my cummins and during the transaction process, everything has gone smooth. The price was very fair and the work was completed very quickly. If you have a dodge then C.C. ring and pinion is your best friend.

Larry Cook provides the South Texas Area with endless years of experience and a wide variety of knowledge. Myself and the group of people I surround have had nothing but good experiences with CC Ring & Pinion. Larry has always been very out going and a big help to keep my truck on the road, he has the largest inventory of Cummins engines and Dodge parts available in the area. His lead mechanic Randy also has several years of experience and has been a huge help to me. What more could any Cummins enthusiast ask for! This is the only mechanic shop in South Texas that I Trust!

I worked for larry for about 6 months. He is deceptive towards his customers, gouges prices as often as he can is generally an all around crook and liar. He embezzles cash flow from his company and accuses his employees of theft. While under his employ I was asked to use some parts from a truck on the lot to repair his girlfriends truck. I later found out the parts truck I was using belonged to one of his customers! Be weary of any business done with this creep. In fact save yourself the trouble and find anyone else in the area to do the work for you. Besides Larry nor anyone in his employ is capable or qualified to perform much over an oil change. Let alone engine rebuilds. Hell he wanted me to put together a customers cummins 24v engine with mismatched rods a scored cylinder and a crank that needed polished bad! Brian sessions, how about that transmission Larry built for your truck. You know the one that lasted a day.endless knowledge my ass, I personally witnessed him beating the 5th gear nut retainer on with a hammer, breaking off the locking prongs meant to hold it and the nut from backing out. Although I believe it was a bearing he probably didn't replace in his so called "rebuild" Larry Crook is a hack mechanic on his best day, which has long since past. Anyone bringing there work to this man has an equal chance of getting a quality job done if they perform the work them selves in the driveway with the wrong tools in a drunken stooper and their shoes on the wrong feet...

*RUN VERY FAR AWAY, PLEASE READ* -final bill twice what quote was (should have got in writing) -never called to authorize add. amt. & used parts put on vehicle (engine rebuild- why spend high$ only to put used belt tensioners, belt, etc. that will fail soon), yet final bill had 2 cell #'s left for comm. on it, so they had them. Part of inc. cost was injectors which, once tested, shop was sup. to call me w/ results so I could decide whether to rebuild them or get new myself & avoid paying shop's mrk-up on new set. Shop apparently thinks you simply dropping off a vehicle gives them an open check book to do whatever they want with no need to ask much less inform you of the change or option. -Owner, Larry, total @$$ when politely questioned, became irate and my representative was cussed out unprovoked -Took 6 MONTHS, no exaggeration, to rebuild. Larry blamed machine shop, later said he was sick day machine shop called for engine block so got pushed to back of que. 1. don't lie, be honest from start, 2. people get sick yes, but there's 3 other empl. I saw that could have taken block, 3. NO machine shop has 6 mo. que., completely unreasonable repair time. had to buy addl. truck in meantime to work + acc. to do my job + still make payment on truck in shop for 6 mos that I can't drive. -wanted head studs put in block while rebuilding engine, weren't on final bill. When I politely asked shop about it, was told kit on back-order yet I never got a call saying this and if I had, I could have gotten from numerous places and taken down to shop. I mentioned as much and was told if I could find it, they'd put them in. I said no problem and asked what the additional labor cost would be now that heads would have to come off again. Larry (Owner) literally told me word for word (this is not paraphrased) "if it'll SHUT YOU UP, I'll jus' put 'em in for free!". WOW!- great customer service, very professional way to talk to a customer your trying to stick with an unauthorized 10k bill! I bought head stud kit without problem the next day and had friend in the area drop off along with a service contract I had drawn up outlining the install service to be performed, done at no cost per Larry and my conversation, and done in a REASONABLE amount of time. Given my experience with this shop up to this point, I have no trust in Larry or shop to honor a verbal agreement as they've shown themselves to be sneaky snakes w/ no communication skills, hence the service contract. When presented with head stud kit and service contract, Larry became belligerent, refused to sign contract and threw it on the ground like a 5 y.o. throwing a temper tantrum, and this is where (as mentioned earlier) he cussed my representative out. Representative did nothing but drop off parts and contract at my request- no one deserves to be treated like that. -post completion (bill paid and truck now in my possession): fan unattached to engine (just sitting in shroud), fan wiring harness bracket snapped off at bolt and dangling in shroud (found out once I attached the fan to engine and heard fan hitting on something), oil leak, A/C no longer works (spent 2k on entire new system a year prior at Carlisle Auto Air and worked great until the day after I picked up rebuilt engine truck from C.C.Ring & Pinion), Oil/Grease all over interior and bed of truck + old gaskets and some parts. CONCLUSION: UNPROFESSIONAL, CHEAT, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO COMMUNICATION, UNREASONABLE REPAIR TIME, LIARS WHO DON'T ADMIT FAULT EVEN WHEN CAUGHT IN LIE. DO NOT USE!! I got screwed from this shop and there's nothing (worthwhile anyways) I can do about it but eat the cost and learn a lesson. Its not too late for you though and I implore you to heed my warning. If I can save even one person from experiencing the same disrespect, lengthy repair time, horrible customer service, and insane cost I had to endure from C.C. Ring & Pinion, I'll feel that I have at least accomplished something and it was not all in vain.
