We purchased a 350 short block for our Suburban and these guys are great. We dealt with Scott and he has been excellent in helping us get the engine we wanted and carefully explained everything as well as what was expected of us. Our engine is in and purring away. Our only hiccup was with the shipping company Estes...be aware if delivery is residential it can be a challenge. We researched S&J after a good friend recommended them. He had purchased an engine from them a few years back and is very happy. We will be recommending them to anyone we run across that needs a new engine.

They all helped me immensely. The mechanic at the shop had used the wrong gasket on the oil pump so it wouldn’t hold oil pressure due to it suckling air so S&J had me return the motor on which they even paid for the shipping cost both ways ! So a special thanks to them for that and for Casey there who has been a great person and very accommodating as well as kind so thank you 🙏🏻 Casey and all the S&J staff 🌞👍🏻🤗 the motor is running great 👍🏻 and my truck is back home where it belongs thank you 🙏🏻 With warm regards always, Richard V. I had the misfortune of buying a long block Dodge V-10 for my 01 Ram from S&J in September. Kelly’s of Grants Pass installed it. It started like it had a leaking head gasket the very first time it was started. That lagging initial start happened every time it was started. Only 900 miles down the road it dropped an intake valve seat. After some pictures and haggling S&J sent a replacement head to my mechanic. Then after approximately another 1600 miles it blew the head gaskets on both heads in Redding California. We are now sitting in an expensive RV park while this very competent shop removes BOTH heads and sends them to a GOOD machine shop to be properly assessed and machined. I opted to have a GOOD shop rebuild my heads because it’s painfully obvious S&J aren’t capable of doing this. As far as the warranty goes? Not sure, yet, what this is going to set me back but since every head S&J installs fails then the only way to feel any peace of mind is have someone you trust do it. Read the reviews. The weak link for S&J seems to be the gaskets they use and the lack of ability to rebuild heads. I haven’t seen much negative regarding their short blocks but their heads and head work are garbage. What good is a warranty when the replacement parts are junk and it costs you hundreds or thousands to lodge out of town “stuck”. This is the second time stranded in 2500 miles. Absolutely would NOT buy one of these motors again!

Shipping was fantastic. Ordered on Tuesday, arrived on Thursday. Can't beat that. So far all is good. 3500 miles and running perfect.

Do not trust this company. AVOID S & J ENGINES AT ALL COST. They are deceitful and fraudulent. Our head gasket was leaking oil at the right rear corner and was still under warranty. We sent the gasket back and finally after two months we received a photo and letter from this company which showed a DIFFERENT gasket than the one we sent to them. The gasket in their photo showed a broken ring. With this they denied our warranty. We called and left messages to the owner with no luck. The owner is too much of a wimp and lacks balls to answer our call or to return our call. We filed a complaint with the US Attorneys office and the BBB in Spokane which was no help. DO NOT LET THE 7 YEAR/100K MILE WARRANTY SUCK YOU IN. THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO WEASEL THEIR WAY OUT OF HONORING THE WARRANTY (they have no honor). THEY ARE CROOKS OF THE WORST KIND.
