*This is an additional response from my original review and in response to the businesses defense. After they read my poor review, they are now proceeding to call and harass myself and my employer threatening to come into my place of business and cause a scene and I have now been advised to seek legal council and the Vienna police are now involved.** They were nice until I had a concern. I brought my BMW in to be diagnosed because both my nonhalogen headlights quit working and am only able to use my high beams (very unsafe to drive with) and the diagnostic on the vehicle read Right and Left Parking Lamp Malfunction. My car is not very old but is now above 60k miles due to travel and out of warranty so rather than take it to Columbus and save inconvenience and what I thought cost, I chose to take it locally. I received a quote for nearly $2500 but did not include anything about what was wrong with my headlights, only 60k mile maintenance things that my vehicle status already told me I needed (did not need the $125 diagnostic to tell me that). I told them not to go ahead with service because I needed to clarify this issue but when I went back to pick up my car ten til 5 the service tech had already left and the person at the counter seemed unaware that there was anything wrong with my lights because it wasn’t on the report, even though I stated multiple times on the phone and dropping it off what was wrong. He told me I would have to get it fixed to make the lights on the dash go off (as if because I’m a girl I didn’t understand you have to fix the cause of the lights being on when in reality the only light that was on was what they failed to look at). He told me to call back the next day so I paid for the diagnostic that told me nothing and wasted my time. When I called back he said I’d have to bring it back to run further diagnostic and I asked why if that was the whole reason I brought it in to begin with why they didn’t do that initially and why I was being charged for something I didn’t need. I would have been happy to pay the diagnostic if it had told me the issue and probably would have gone ahead to have it fixed there if it had seemed like they were honest and knew what they were doing. I understand their time is money also but my opinion is they just neglect real issues and try to make money by taking advantage of people that aren’t mechanics.

I recently brought my BMW in for service. I heard they were up on the euro cars so I decided to save a drive to Columbus. I took it in for routine maintenance and a malfuction light. I was told any indicators on the dash required diagnostics which I agreed. The price just for this was well below the dealer's fee. They recommended some items at which time I will reschedule. They repaired my issues with my malfunction light and I feel the price and service was acceptable. I would recommend them. As I read some of these reviews, I have to wonder how or why people think someone should work for free. SMH

They got my vehicle in immediately and were very prompt in contacting me with the diagnostics. However, that was where things began to unravel. We talked on the phone about 4:30 to give me the diagnostics report. My estimate was significantly higher than I believed it would be. I think out of shock, I gave them permission to do the work at that time. I also was at their mercy, having to tow my vehicle there to begin with. I was told they wouldn't begin the work until the morning. Later that evening, I began to think about the estimate. I also discussed it with some friends and family who have experience with mechanic work. Everyone felt the estimate was much higher than it should be. I called that evening and left a message asking them to call me back before they started any work on my vehicle to discuss the estimate. I specifically said "DO NOT DO ANY WORK UNTIL WE TALK". The only thing I heard back from them was that my vehicle was done and ready for pickup, through a text message. I got no explanation, other than they didn't know how to contact me. However, I was receiving text messages throughout the process, and left messages with my vehicle make and phone number twice. When I got the bill and the break down of prices, I was pretty stunned. Their markup for parts was unbelievable. I was charged $276 for a new battery, and could have gotten the same battery at Autozone, with longer warranty, for $139. I also think my current battery was still under warranty, because I replaced it myself in 2013 with a 5 year warranty, which was never mentioned to me. I understand good mechanic work comes at a price, and I do feel I received quality work. I just believe I was taken advantage of with this bill. I hope this was just an isolated incident, but I don't think I will be returning and probably would not recommend them to anyone else.

In June '16 I had the brakes in my '08 MINI Cooper repaired at P&L' s. In January '17 the brake warning light said I had only 1100 miles left on the front brakes but 36000 remaining on the rear. Obviously something was wrong with either the front brakes or, hopefully, the sensor. I called P&L' s and was told to drop the car off the following morning. By 11 a.m. I got a text that the car was fixed. The sensor wire had frayed and broken and had been replaced. I picked the car up later that day and was told no charge for the repair! Sure, maybe something in the original brake job was not quite right and that caused the wiring problem. But there's no way I would have ever known that. They could have easily charged me for parts and labor. But Pete and Libby's is a class act. I'll definitely be bringing my Cooper back for future repairs and routine maintenance.
