Meaghan Hume, I find your rating to be highly questionable and I'm going to take a moment to explain to you why. I'm also going to state for the record that Dawn Mortensen is very actively advertising, promoting, and showing my Commercial Property that is for sale through her here in Lillooet BC. I have every faith in her abilities and have a 20 year history of purchasing and selling Real Estate with various Agents throughout BC. ANY serious buyer will take the time to actually investigate the area; ie: it's travel routes, amenities, and the distance and time it takes to get to Lillooet and return to their present location, among other things. Unless you're from out of Province or way up North it does not take 2 days travel time. I have had several viewers from the Lower Mainland who are able to be here by noon and be home in time for supper. So, you either hadn't done your due diligence at the time of contacting her or you weren't serious to begin with. As a seller, I personally do not like having my time wasted by "looky loos". Dawn respects this and she respects my time. Next, I question your understanding of the changes in laws with respects to what an Agent can or cannot do for you. You indicate that after Dawn questioned you as to whether or not you had an Agent that you were working with and you stated that you did, that Dawn would not work with you. There are 2 things I'd like to point out to you: a) There is no such thing as a Dual Agency Agreement anymore whereby the seller and buyer can use the same agent. That is ILLEGAL. Did you honestly expect her to risk her license and career over you? b) Since you had told Dawn that you were working with an agent, then it became obvious to anyone educated in the new Laws that it was up to you to have contacted YOUR Agent to begin with, not Ms. Mortensen, and have your Agent make arrangements with her if necessary, for her to show you the property. You had no business contacting Ms. Mortensen directly and your Agent that you were/are working with should've explained this to you. If they did, then you should've listened. Had I been your Agent, I'd have been very upset with you for seemingly trying to do an "end run" around me and jeopardizing the license of a fellow Agent at the same time. Thankfully, Dawn has the knowledge and foresight to question up front the details that are VERY important in today's Real Estate Market. I would suggest to you, Madam, that before you post libelous statements online about a professional Real Estate Agent who is acting strictly within the law, that you first take the time to EDUCATE yourself, at the very least, on the BASiCS of Real Estate sales, purchases, and laws in British Columbia. In your ignorance of such, you may have falsely mislead others who may have read your comments and have possibly harmed a good Agent's career. Food for thought.

I can't thank Dawn Mortenson enough for her kind, patient and knowledgeable service in selling my father's home for him in Lillooet. He has been ill and had to move very quickly. My sister and I needed a realtor with integrity and the expertise to walk us through the sale process as we are not from this area. We thankfully found that Dawn went above and beyond in all aspects of the sale. Her work ethic, invaluable advice, uncompromising attention to detail and great sense of humor made the experience seem simple. This is a realtor that really does care. Our family is very happy with the outcome. We would recommend her to anyone searching for an extremely effective, personable realtor in the area.

My wife and I had a Great experience with Dawn as our selling agent. We had multiple parties shown through the property, and we feel she really went above and beyond to make sure we got the best buyer and deal we could have gotten in today's market. My only disappointment is that she cant help us sell our house in Victoria, because we need someone with Dawn's energy down here!

We were interested to view a property and inquired about a viewing. Dawn offered to show us the property if we were unrepresented and not working with a realtor. When we said we did have a realtor but they would be unable to join us for the initial viewing because it is a 2 day journey and 8 hours of driving for she refused to show us the property and said it was not worth her valuable time. If you have a listing with Dawn be aware that she is refusing to show properties to interested buyers. Her email responses are attached.
