Currently live here. We had a great landlord. She’s suddenly not here anymore. The one that is in the sister building behind this apartment is pretty rude and not very helpful at all. The day We moved in, the toilet didn’t work. It was supposed to be fixed for the move in date, so after getting the bed in and everything moved We had no where to sleep because well. We were probably going to need the bathroom at some point. the water has been getting “fixed” every month multiple times a month and yet I have no cold water in my kitchen. The shower goes from cold to scalding hot and burnt me. My air wasn’t working until after the hot days arrived. The rent also went up literally a month or two after we signed our lease (yes while all these things were happening) and we weren’t given appropriate notice which I’m pretty sure goes against rental laws here. Our car window had a brick thrown through it and apparently it happens here quite a bit but there is no surveillance apparently. The community bbq that we were told was for both buildings , well we tried to use it yesterday and told we weren’t allowed because we are not apart of the senior social club. And lots more. Definitely wouldn’t suggest this company.

I lived in a property owned by Edidon Properties for about months a few years ago, before I got married. I absolutely loved it! The pool and sauna were well-maintained, and they were meticulous about maintenance issues. The land lady was always nice and friendly and other tenants were, too. I would highly recommend living here. The only reason I give them a 4 instead of a five, is that they do not allow any pets, and I have cats.

I have lived at 20 Fort St. For over ten years. It is Owned by Edison Rentals. Recently I have been thinking of moving, only because I would like to get a pet. But after shopping around for a few months I can tell you that I would never complain about anything again to do with this property. We have insuite washer and dryer, underground parking, balconies, central air. First off it is extremely difficult finding any property with all of those amenities but secondly if you are lucky enough to find that you will also find that the rent will be double or more what we pay here. Wow what an eye opener this experience has been for me. I think all of us in this complex are extremely fortunate.

Chris is a penname. I have lived at 85 Garry for 4 years and am overall, impressed with Edison Properties. I have been renting all my life , and of my 40 years of renting , this is the best landlord/rental company that I have experienced. However,...things are changing, .Perusing their listings I see that they are renovating suites and , wait for it ....increasing the rent , to 180% of its current (non renovated) rates. Eg they have a reno1 bedroom suite in another building at over $1200 a month plus 40 for parking. Also the Rentalsman office is allowing 8% increases each of last 2 years at 85 Garry....at this rate, 1 more year and I will have to move , as I will not be able to afford it. Rentalsman has allowed, increases based on 'Maintenance" ie costs of maintaining building to its original standard eg cost of replacing appliances , cost of repairing cosmetics of the exterior of the building, and major costs of redoing the underground parkade. have all been allowed by the rentals man office. It is unfortunate. The rental market is all aiming a that higher income crowd. 1200 to 1500 for an unfurnished 1 br suite,...are you kidding me ?? Maybe rents are less in Saskatchewan or Thunderbay.....will have ot start looking. but ,I still have to say that I am generally impressed with Edison as a landlord..
