A vast majority of people on here are selling their leftover and/or used construction items for top dollar. I have found that in most cases the price is the same or more than store prices. Examples: 1. A door that was replaced as part of a remodel is listed for the price of a new door. 2. Someone felt like changing the light fixture and the old one is listed for 50% more than an identical one that was at Home Depot. 3. Used bricks, with mortar still attached, from construction in the 80s, asking 3x the price of new. 4. Leftover cinder blocks, many badly damaged or outright broken but sold all together or not at all, same price per block ad store prices. The list goes on. While you can find a good deal on this site here and there, it's like a needle in a hay stack. Not worth the effort. A good idea, but needs better moderating right now.

We recently moved to Calgary and just had an extensive renovation of our condo complete by contractor, Rob Porter of Calgary Prestige Homes, whom we found on Renoback. After receiving three quotes from local contractors, it didn’t take us long to decide to proceed with Rob. Not only was his quote competitive, his project plan was organized, detailed, and professional. We were also fortunate to see some of his recent work and work in progress in a neighbouring building. We were not only impressed by the quality of his work, but also by his reputation and the enthusiastic praise from his clients. It was such a pleasure to meet and work with Rob. Right from our first meeting with him he was both professional and extremely pleasant. He has such an excellent demeanour; even when we had some changes mid-project, he made us feel at ease and he fluently continued onward without missing a beat. He made the whole process enjoyable and effortless. We really appreciated his input and advice. It was so valuable to have access to his knowledge and opinion at inception and as the project progressed. Rob is not only superior at renovations but he has great ideas. We often joked that he was our designer, but admittedly there was a lot of truth to that. Rob is a perfectionist at what he does; his attention to detail is beyond impressive. If we ever need any renovations in the future, Rob will be the first person we call. We would highly recommend Rob Porter for any project. Dave & Kathleen Cranidge

I was renovating my home and wanted an antique door. A friend of mine told me about Renoback Inc. and I bought it through their website. It's so beautiful! And I really appreciate that it's got a history and that I reused something, rather than buying new. Thanks, Renoback!

What a fantastic concept. We have recently purchased an acreage which houses an original Prairie Four Square home built in 1912 and are always looking for reclaimed materials to bring the home back to it's original condition. This site will be number one on my online search list.

Great place to buy and sell construction materials. It beats throwing them away or giving them away, or worse yet, having them sit in your garage or yard forever. Great job Renoback!
