When I ordered from this company, I was worried based on the reviews here. However, the wood and tiles that were delivered are really beautiful, and customer service was great. There's an 8 week wait between order and delivery, but they tell you this up front.

I was in the showroom in SW10 2 days ago and the girls were friendly but not knowledgeable about the products. Like other customers, I was highly motivated to like this shop as the tiles are beautiful but I struggled to get the girl's attention as she was so busy with her sweet dog who kept trying to escape from the shop onto the pavement. Nice dog - no problems about him, but do tie him up so he can't escape and have you running after him. I would like your attention when I'm trying to make my choices.

I purchased some beautiful tiles from Bert and May back in December, after reading some negative reviews I got a little spooked so emailed the operations team who were lovely and put me at ease, they continued to update me providing me with reassurance and finally tracking details! A truly charming family business! My tiles are now installed and I love them!! Thank you Bert and May!

Ordered and paid for tiles 6 weeks in advance, arrived a week late, no apology, no express delivery to speed things up, angry man with a truck load of other gear to get rid of. Handmade Tiles(starring Elizabeth Moss!) had been hastily packed in Spain before they’d had time to dry causing damage to the entire order. Bert & May appears to be an importers with their canal side shed on Vyner Street. The shed is lovely inside, but their ability to import the goods they offer, as seen, seems beyond them. Perhaps it’s Brexit. They offer little apology - no after care. Go and have a look at the tiles in their shed, but if I were you I’d try and find something similar elsewhere because these guys are totes jokes.

UPDATE: as you can see I posted my review below last summer. I was contacted last week by Bert and May by email to ask for a positive review on google/trust pilot in exchange for a £50 voucher and a story on Inst. I would, therefore, be wary of the sudden surge of positive reviews. I am pretty sure it is illegal to pay for positive reviews. Expensive, long lead times, delivery service is shocking as it doesn't turn up on the day they say it will and the driver had me lifting them off a very high lorry, he wouldn't even lift them out and put them on the pavement and the product is shockingly bad quality!! The tiles were so badly marked when we got them out of the box but we followed the installation guide throughly and they went from bad to worse, we were advised to sand them for a second time and the colour completely faded from black to grey. We have spent a fortune on a tiler as he basically had to repeat the process of sanding and cleaning them twice, taking days to do. The response we have had is that is the way the tiles are supposed to look!!! So if you want to pay a premium price for a substandard product go ahead and purchase your tiles from here. So so disappointed as it's such a lot of money to spend. I imagine we will have to get them pulled up and re-tiled in the very near future as they look so bad!!
