I found them on a Google search. They came and looked at my old windows... and explained to me how they worked. They also shared the local history about my stained glass... Talk about craftsmanship... wow... I purchased a bunch of the custom storm windows for my 1913 home... and now that it is the middle of winter, I can attest to how much they have improved the heat retention on the windows in question. Quality fit and finish. Superb work and the result I was looking for! And you can hardly tell they are there! Thanks Vintage! I highly recommend them if you are considering upgrading your old windows... Gord B

Two double hung sashes in my heritage house had been removed long ago and I wanted to replace them. Vintage Woodworks was very competitive in their pricing. And unlike their competitors they were completely agreeable to customizing the work to meet my needs, including building the sashes to fit the existing jamb, ensuring the new sashes matched some of our existing sashes in other windows, and incorporating our stained glass. Rusty was very patient in working through the details with us, and the amount of time he and the rest of the team spent on designing and building these 2 sashes was truly impressive. The final fit and finish of the installed sashes speaks to the craftsmanship and dedication to detail of the staff at Vintage Woodworks. Thank you!

Our sash fell out of the window just before Christmas. Vintage Woodworks offered a good price to replace the sash and put our glass in the new sash, in a very timely manner. They were all very friendly and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone.

This is a great company to deal with. I had them make a sash window into which they would have to install a stained glass window that I was having made. They liased with the glass artist to ensure the measurements were perfect and they provided the name of a very competent and professional young man (Sean Nowak) who installed the completed window. The workmanship on the window was excellent; I have a 1912 home and it looks completely authentic. The whole process at Vintage was very professional - from managing the project to producing a high quality product to following up with a satisfaction survey. And I was impressed that they seem to be genuinely appreciative to have my business. (Unlike another local company that seemed indifferent to my small job-and quoted me at nearly twice the price). Thank you!

When we became empty-nesters 8 years ago, my husband and I stumbled upon a sweet little 2-bedroom Tudor cottage for sale on a dreamy country lane in Oak Bay, short on square footage but long on 1930s’ charm: vaulted beamed ceilings, arched doorways, textured plaster walls, and lovely diamond-paned leaded glass windows. Being the sort who’d rather spend our days in the company of William Morris than Mike Miller, we could not resist. We bought it and moved in. Then the hidden problems started to creep in: rats in the attic, water in the basement, and rot around those lovely windows. We dealt with the rats first, and then called Vintage Woodworks to deal with the rot. When Keri Briggs came out to assess our window problems (we’ve done business with Vintage twice now), I knew we were in expert hands. Keri is bright, lively, thoroughly knowledgeable, full of great ideas, and totally trustworthy. She’ll steer you away from solutions that won’t work or would be overly costly. The first thing she suggested was storm windows—a godsend over the past 5 years. Since then, we’ve had Vintage rebuild our rotten sashes and sills and restore our leaded glass. All the work was done perfectly (aside from one minor glitch, which Keri had swiftly corrected), and the results are solid and beautiful. This year we had Vintage make us a pair of exterior French doors (their design suggested by Keri), and again, they’re gorgeous. The first thing you’ll get from Vintage is a thoroughly detailed quote. Then they’ll recommend an installer to you, and both of the two pleasant young men I’ve worked with, Sean Nowak and Leonard Wertz, proved to be such experts in their trades of joinery and carpentry that I’ve hired them to do other things for me (custom-made bookcases). Finally, you wait a bit before your product is delivered, but when it is, it’s totally worth it. From point of contact to completion of the job, it’s been an absolute pleasure doing business with Vintage—and that means every single person employed there, including the office staff (Kaitlyn) and project manager (Anita). This company represents a proud if vanishing breed of people who understand the true value of the craftsmanship on display in our heritage homes and buildings. Victoria needs such people and should treasure them. Thank you, Vintage Woodworks!
