OK job, follow-up abysmal.
Work was completed just over two weeks ago.
The team worked well, and overall I am "happy" with the installation. During install I found a drop cloth (including pink insulation and general debris) thrown onto my bed. There was dust left everywhere they worked. I was disappointed they started with bedrooms as I was able to better prepare the other rooms before day two and three of work. The bedrooms on the other hand required significant cleaning before being used again. The work quality is far from perfect, but better than I could do.
The installer and I noted issues with a few screens (4) that he assured me he contacted the office about. There was also questions regarding whether I did in fact get triple glaze (paid for) on three of my smaller windows. I made note of this on the "exit" paperwork. I assumed I would hear from the office promptly with an exit interview, if nothing else.
After a few days I emailed the office person I had spoken to via email before for other aspects of the job (and always received prompt feedback previously) and I have gotten no response. A few days ago I sent another email to the office contact, the customer service address, and the sales team address. I have still heard nothing back.
Between the screen issues, the triple glaze questions, the fact the "do not remove" warranty stickers are starting to fall off, and issues I have with our front door selection (mixed fault that needs to be addressed), we have a lot to talk about.
I am EXTREMELY disappointed. When reading reviews it's great to see about all the prefect jobs. It is however VERY telling of the company that the moment the job is done, despite issues being voiced, they fall off the radar. I regret this choice of company, and have already steered two friends far from this company.
Based on my experience I ABSOLUTELY can NOT recommend you get work done by them.
******June 5, 2018 update******
Paul was very quick to reach out following my negative review. I responded with questions and there has been no response in the last two weeks.
The remaining issues are as follows.
I was sold triple pane windows constructed by Vinyl Built for my whole home. The small windows in my basement were replaced with double pane windows. The response was that triple pane isn’t an option (which was not explained or clearly stated in contract). According to the Vinyl Built worker here today the windows used are not theirs, and he has no idea who the manufacturer is. I was clearly oversold and the product was under delivered.
The door insert is not at all the privacy level we wanted. The catalogue is extremely deceiving. I asked about replacing the insert. The response was that it’s not an option. I followed up questioning this. A glass insert, very susceptible to breaking or failure, not being replaceable and therefore requiring the whole door to be replaced does not make sense.
I responded within hours of being sent an email. That was on May 23. It is now June 5. This is unacceptable. They’ve had more than ample time to respond and address my concerns.
As a sidenote, for days after install the chemical smell in the house was unbearable. The windows HAD to all be left open due to the smell. We talked with friends, who we turned away from Consumers Choice, and they got quotes from other companies. They said there should have been zero issues with odour, and this was absolutely not something that should be expected.
Buyer beware.
